Would You Include the Tiger Talk Link, Please?
Teachers! If you're sending classroom communication out this week would you mind to share a link to the October 23 Tiger Talk with your families? This is a great way to make sure they are getting ALL the information they need from the classroom to the district level. Here's the link: https://conta.cc/2ECDuuB. We appreciate you!
Patron Survey, October 22-November 2
Republic School District invites parents and guardians of our kindergarten through 12th grade students to complete the short survey found at the link below (EC families will receive a separate survey in November). Your feedback allows us to see at what level we are meeting the needs of our students, families and community at large. Preparing each student for a successful future is our mission, and the information gathered through this survey provides us a measure to see how well we are achieving this goal.

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is open October 22-November 2.
 Thank you in advance!

Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/patron2018 to take the survey.

**Teachers, we really need your help promoting the survey! Please take time between now and November 2 to send the survey link (coming next week) and associated information to your parents encouraging them to complete it.Thanks in advance!

Board of Education Meeting Recap
BOE meeting
At the October 18 Board of Education meeting the adoption of the agenda and approval of consent items (found on BoardDocs) took place after the Pledge of Allegiance. The MSBA monthly report was also viewed.

The Board heard a presentation from district kindergarten teachers and reading recovery specialists. They shared data that indicated huge growth of students receiving intervention  services.

The first RepMO Hero of the Month, Krisiti Archer was recognized by the Board of Education. See the above section for more on Mrs. Archer.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chance Wistrom provided a monthly update to the Board regarding facilities, state legislative activity, finance and district highlights.

Full administrative reports can be found on  BoardDocs.

The Board discussed several board policies and potential course additions for 2019-20 at Republic High School, which can be found on BoardDocs. In addition, discussion took place regarding the hiring of a demographer to assist in creating a solution to the unequal distribution of students in our elementary buildings. Also, the Board discussed the possibility of partnering with Burrell Mental Health for school-based services.

New high school courses for the 2019-20 school year were approved along with the hiring of a demographer. More information on the demographer's services will be shared in late November.

The next regular meeting will take place on November 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Substitute Teacher Technology Usage Reminders
Below is a list of information shared with substitute teachers on how to use district technology. Please take special note that substitutes are not allowed to use teacher usernames/passwords.  All subs have a district account, and building secretaries have that information available.  If a sub forgets their password a tech request needs to be submitted and the password will be reset by the IT Department.

However, long-term subs are set-up differently with appropriate technology and SISK12 permissions. Please work with your building administrator on those needs.

Employee Athletic Pass Reminder
Employee passes are good for free admission to regular season Republic Middle School and Republic High School home athletic events.  They will not be accepted for tournaments and district/state events.  Passes are good for the employee and their immediate family (employee, spouse, and dependent elementary/middle/high school students). As always, the employee must be present for the pass to be accepted.
