"Pursue charity, the sweet and salutary bond of our minds, without which the rich man is poor and with which the poor man is rich." St. Augustine
In Sunday’s gospel reading Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. This is a tall order for He gave His very life out of love for us. The love He commands is no human love but it is a supernatural love, only made possible by the Holy Spirit poured into our hearts at Baptism. It is the love that, as St. Augustine tells us, “endures in adversity, is moderate in prosperity; brave under harsh sufferings, cheerful in good works; utterly reliable in temptation, utterly openhanded in hospitality; as happy as can be among true brothers and sisters, as patient as you can get among the false ones” (Sermon 350)  It is the love that, brought about by Christ’s sacrifice, “makes all things new” (Rv 21:5) and it is by our imitation of this love, that we are known as disciples of Jesus, the chosen people of God. As you prepare for Mass this weekend, pray for the grace to understand how God wants you to live out this commandment to love as He loves in the week ahead.
Dear Parishioners,

In response to your many concerns and questions regarding the investigation of the allegation against Fr. Peter, I can say that at this time I only know that the Province lawyers have been in contact with Fr. Peter and have interviewed some other people. So the procedure required is moving along. Please be assured that Fr. Peter is at an Augustinian residence and is doing well. At this time this is all I know.

You will be seeing some new faces in the church. These are priest assisting me with the Masses. Some are Friars and some are volunteers from the Archdiocese. We thank them for their help and ask that you please continue to welcome them.
May God bless you,
Fr. Art
