Dear Alumni, RAMP members and friends of the DAAD,
Another year has gone by and as everyone is getting ready for the festivities ahead (or simply a well-deserved break), I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support of the activities of the DAAD Information Centre in Sydney.
Special thanks goes to:
- Our Alumni - for supporting the Alumni-Treffen in Melbourne in November and investing their valuable time in staying connected with the DAAD.
- The German Embassy Canberra, the Consulate General in Sydney and the Honorary Consulates in Brisbane and Perth - for your excellent cooperation, invitations to events and continued support throughout all our activities.
- The Goethe-Institut Australia - for your great hospitality, cooperation and support.

We would like to invite you to join the
Australian German Research Network
, a joint initiative by the German Embassy in Canberra and the Australian Embassy in Berlin. This online network is currently hosted on the social media platform

. The group has over 250 members from academia, government and industry, and we would love for you to join!
What is its purpose?
This group is dedicated to Australian researchers and innovators interested in collaborating with Germany and vice versa. It offers them the opportunity to connect with like-minded colleagues in Germany and Australia, find new collaborators, identify funding opportunities and business partners, and stay informed about all things happening in the bilateral Australian-German research and innovation space. It is open to all disciplines including natural sciences, engineering, humanities, political and social sciences.
Why should you join?
This group will allow you to:
- promote events among a target network of professionals with expertise in German-Australian research and innovation;
- share your research news and other information on bilateral opportunities including jobs and funding; and
- connect with academics, industry, and government representatives who have a common interest in Australian-German linkages.
