A bill has been introduced in the Maine Legislature to increase the rate of taxation on premium cigars.
LD 1028, in its current form, would increase in the rate of taxation from 20 percent to 81 percent of the wholesale price.
LD 1028 is anti-small business and anti-consumer action that will negatively affect Maine premium cigar retailers and consumers alike.
Take action now! Contact your members of the Maine Legislature and respectfully ask that they vote NO on LD 1028.
