MISSION COMPLETE! FUN RUN SETS NEW RECORDS FOR FUN AND RUNNING!

Sunday's Planet Miraloma Fun Run was a huge success!  More than 350 runners and walkers hit the Balboa HS Track.  The weather was perfect! Kids ran, music played and families noshed on the delicious coffee, bake sale treats, pizza and hot dog yummies. A good time was truly had by all.

Congratulations to the 2nd Grade who ran the most laps, with 776 completed rounds around the track!

And congratulations to all of our incredible classes, whose results are below:

As of press time, we've raised $80,803, including t-shirt sales and the generous contributions of our sponsors. Whoooop! We've still got a few days left to do even better. If you have any donations to collect, remember to do so before the end of the month when the fundraising site closes.

Hospitality brought in $2,700 at the Fun Run! We would like to thank A Hole in the Wall Pizza for their pizza donation. We charged for pizza and hot dogs but had a donations-only bake sale. Thanks to all the volunteers who baked/sold to make it a success!

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31: HALLOWEEN PARADE
This year's Halloween Parade will start at 1:15pm on Wednesday, October 31, at each classroom's Morning Circle spots. The parade will end close to 1:45. Some teachers will dismiss directly from the yard and others will dismiss from classrooms, depending on teacher preference.

Please remember that as per SFUSD policy, no sweets or edible treats are permitted at school - check out our treats and wellness policy on our website.

Additionally, please do not send your students to school in a costume that includes fake weapons or really terrifying/ bloody/ gory costumes that will give our kinder students nightmares. There is a big gray area with halloween costumes, so thanks for erring on the safe and friendly side :)

Adults:
  • You are welcome and encouraged to dress up, but please no face masks
  • Remain on the outside of the Morning Circle
  • Take pictures/videos and share them on our Shutterfly Site.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2: FRIDAY COFFEE + Q&A WITH DENMAN STUDENTS & PRINCIPAL
Following Morning Circle and just outside the Cafeteria,  we will have a Q&A with special guests from Denman Middle School: Principal Lisa Jovick-Berrueta and current students who graduated from Miraloma. They will share information about our feeder school and answer questions about their experience.

Your donations of homemade or store-bought baked goods are always appreciated AND First Friday is THE place to get your Dragon Wear!
