Lauren Underwood
Welcome Lauren Underwood
We are extremely excited to have Lauren join us this summer! Lauren will assist staff with a variety of programs and projects designed to engage youth, support local agriculture and promote healthy lifestyles during her internship  with NC Cooperative Extension - Moore County . Please help us provide a warm welcome to Lauren by introducing yourself when coming to the office and treating her like part of the Extension family.

Lauren's Introduction:
My name is Lauren Underwood and I am super excited to be interning with Moore County Cooperative Extension and 4-H this summer! I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Nutrition. I am interested in the relationship between food and health. My favorite vegetable is a sweet potato. During the summer, I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, and walking my dog, Shelby. Throughout my time with Moore County, I am looking forward to working with 4-H camps, participating in local farmer's markets, and learning about community programming.

Space Available to Attend Millstone 4-H Camp
We received notice from one of our participants that they are unable to attend camp due to an injury. If you know of a boy between the ages of 11-14, we would have space for them to attend Millstone 4-H Camp. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our group June 16th -  June 21st, please let our office know as soon as possible by calling (910) 947-3188.

Because of this unique circumstance, we will honor the early bird registration price of $270. If you were to register with Millstone Camp directly, the price to attend camp would be $495.

Teen Council
Please join us at our next meeting as we plan some fun fall events. At our last meeting, we had great discussions about a fall festival and a family camping event. If you know of any churches or organizations that would allow Moore County 4-H to join forces for a fall festival, please let us know! Our activity for the evening will be to paint rocks with inspirational messages to be placed out in the community.  We will have a pizza dinner available for those in attendance. The Moore County 4-H Teen Council is open to youth who are 12-18 years old. Please RSVP by 12pm on Monday, June 3rd.
