Dear Parents,
Happy Friday!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our Holiday Sing. We hope it put everyone in the holiday spirit. And, to add more to your merry spirits, we have shared photos at the bottom of today's peek from some of the happy recipients of our "Holidays from Haiti" event donations. Their smiles are contagious and a big thanks again to all who participated.
We also want to thank everyone who contributed to our two successful Holiday Toy Drives run by local students. The Riverside School community and a local Riverside/ OG Cub Scout Pack together provided many generous donations and gifts for ill children at Yale New Haven's Children's Hospital and the new Yale Pediatric Specialty Center in Greenwich.
The "Pennies for Patients" fundraiser run by our Student Council is still in full swing with a deadline of January 11th. Also,
details are below about the opportunity to provide meals during the month of January for Kids in Crisis.

KIDS IN CRISIS
- JANUARY
MEALS
Riverside School is giving back to our community in the New Year!
Sign up
to make dinner for the residents at Kids In Crisis. Meals should serve 14-16 people and be dropped off by 5 pm in Cos Cob at KIC. Get your kids involved in planning and making the meal so that the kids are helping other kids right here in Greenwich!

RIVERSIDE RHYTHMS
On Tuesday, December 18th, Riverside Rhythms hosted the Riverside Trio during students' lunch periods. Composed of Melanie Sasaki (violin), Renee Oliver (violin), and Isabel Fairbanks (cello), the trio performed classical renditions of holiday music such as, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." Students seemed to love the performance and sang along to many songs!

PERSONALIZED LEARNING AT RIVERSIDE
Personalized Learning, Playlists, Student Goal Setting, Student Voice and Choice - Have you heard these terms and wondered what they mean and how they are used in your child's classroom?
Please join us January 22nd from 2:00-3:00pm in the Media Center for a parent session about the rollout of personalized learning at Riverside. Come and learn from a number of teachers implementing personalized learning in their classrooms. They will share what they are doing and answer parent questions.
The session that was originally planned for this time - Familiarize Yourself with Our School's Research Tools and Databases, will be held Tuesday, February 26th.
