Public Input Requested as Westland Plans City Centre 
Westland, MI (October 23, 2018) -   Westland's Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) is working on an action plan a proposed visioning City Centre project that includes the Westland Shopping Center area.  The action plan will provide the framework for future development opportunities through smart standards for buildings, land uses, streets and open spaces. Residents and business owners are invited to attend sessions to share their input.  The first two events will be held at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd. with the final event taking place at the Westland Shopping Center, located at 35000 Warren Rd. outside the shop "Windsor."

"We welcome and encourage the public to attend these sessions," commented Mayor Wild.  "The sessions are designed as workshops for creative ideas to flow as we continue to plan for Westland's future growth and vitality."

5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Topic:  Public Design Workshop and Food for Thought Presentation #1: Retrofitting and Adaptive Reuse for Retail Best Practices

Friday, November 2
Noon - 1 p.m.
Topic: Learn about mobility, transportation, nonmotorized and parking best practices and howthe City Centre District can be a walkable entertainment destination.
11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Open Design Studio:  Stop by the studio and watch the planning and  design team in action.  The studio is open for drop-in visits and it's an  opportunity to give feedback on the alternative  plans generated over the previous sessions.
