| DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Tampa Bay on Rocky Point will undergo a redesign and renovation beginning this May. The guestroom count will increase from 203 suites to 291 guest rooms and suites featuring a new "Coastal Romance" design theme. Property transformations also include renovated dining facilities, lobby, meeting space and courtyard areas. |
Taylor Morrison celebrated the grand opening of new their newest homes at The Cove at Rocky Point, a luxury waterfront residential community featuring single family homes and townhomes across from Rocky Point Golf Course.

Managed IT services provider and software developer ConnectWise has agreed to be acquired by Thoma Bravo, a technology-focused private equity firm. MORE

 AAA celebrated the groundbreaking of its Car Care Plus facility at 1701 N. West Shore Blvd. last month. For the first time in Florida, AAA will service and repair members and non-members' automobiles at the new facility, which is scheduled to open this summer. The nearly 17,000 square-foot structure will have 11 service bays and create 13 new automotive jobs. Traditional AAA services will also be provided, including travel, insurance, banking and membership. |

Global data leader Validity celebrated the expansion of its operations at One MetroCenter, and the company plans to add 35 employees to its new 23,000-square-foot office this year. Validity's customers include global corporations such as eBay, Salesforce, TMobile, Time Warner, Abode and others, and it also handles the data for a popular TV talent contest. MORE

Regional Push for Westshore Interchange Continues
The Westshore Alliance and other business organizations and governments across Tampa Bay are working to secure funding for the reconstruction of the Westshore Interchange. This Tampa Bay Times article details the project and why the project is urgently needed. The reconstructed interchange improves traffic flow to Westshore and creates an economic development opportunity with three new north-south connections at the street level, which is noted in the article by Executive Director Ann Kulig. Take the Tampa Bay Commuters Pledge To Improve Your Commute
From now until June 2019, take the pledge to commute to work through public transit, biking, carpooling, walking and teleworking. Commuters traveling for work or school to/from Hillsborough and Pinellas counties can take the pledge for any mode at any time. Weekly prize winners will be drawn from the mode of the month pledges (Mar: Bike, Apr: Carpool, May: Walk, June: Telework/Compressed Work Week), announced at TampaBayCommuters.com via the Bike/Walk Tampa Bay Twitter and Facebook page.

Alliance seeking Bicycle Friendly Businesses
The Westshore Alliance is seeking businesses who want to be certified as Bicycle Friendly Businesses. The national program has more than 1,300 certified businesses, including 30 in Tampa. Businesses that apply will have access to training and tools to make their workplaces bike friendly for employees and customers. If you are interested, contact Michael Maurino, Westshore Alliance Director of Transportation.

The City of Tampa is seeking individuals to serve on the
Drew Park CRA Community Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC provides input and makes recommendations to city staff and the Community Redevelopment Agency regarding expenditure of tax funds to improve the area. Interested individuals must live or work in the Drew Park area or have significant interests within the area. Individuals with a background or expertise in the redevelopment process, such as neighborhood planning or real estate are needed to serve. The deadline for applications has been extended until the current open seats are filled.

The NCAA Women's Final Four is coming back to Tampa Bay April 5-7, 2019! The Tampa Bay Sports Commission (working alongside the NCAA) will have a variety of volunteer shifts available throughout championship week.
