Economic Development Workshop April 26th, Midwest City
Economic Growth, Development, and Sustainability 
for your community
This class will be held on April 26th from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Rose State College Professional Training Center in Midwest City. It will provide an overview of the economic development process. Attendees will learn about the strategies, resources, and programs that are available through state and federal agencies to assist Oklahoma municipalities to succeed in an ever changing economy.

Featured Speaker: Ron Drake, Ron Drake Consulting and author of Flip this Town . Popular downtown redeveloper, Ron Drake will be a featured speaker at our upcoming Economic Development workshop. He will be sharing ideas and creative concepts on how to redevelop and revitalize sleepy and under utilized downtown areas. To date, Drake has successfully impacted numerous communities across the country, including Oklahoma, resulting in over $100 million in public and private investments.

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures.

State law requires each person elected or appointed for the first time as an officer of a municipality to attend an institute for municipal officials. The statute is codified at Title 11 O.S., Section 8-114.
OML and OMUP Water/Environmental Summit

The Oklahoma Municipal League and Oklahoma Municipal Utility Providers will hold the Water/Environmental Summit on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rose State College Professional Training & Education Center. Registration is now open!
Community Leadership Development Class 7 Graduates
The Class 7 of the Oklahoma Municipal League’s Community Leadership Development (CLD) class held their graduation session recently in Ponca City.

According to Cheryl Adams, OML Programs Manager, Class 7 was a great class of eager people who shared a desire to learn more about leadership so that they can make their cities and towns even better.  More information
