Promoting healthy and sustainable oceans through education that inspires action & advocacy

Join A POD!

PODs are a chance to gather together with ocean sisters in a causal setting to learn more about the threats to our beloved, endangered North Atlantic right whale.  Last month's POD in Somerville sparked lively conversation among new and old friends about possible solutions to our current crisis. We are hosting more talks across Massachusetts in the months ahead. Be on the lookout for a POD in your community.

Sign up to attend a POD or host your own! If you would like to host a POD all you need to do is invite a bunch of friends to a cozy location and guide a casual discussion about the right whale. Locations can range from your home, to a cafe, to a local library - whatever inspires you. We will provide toolkits for the hosts and pre-POD info for your guests.

Tackling single-use plastic bags

New plastic bag ban bills have been proposed in the Massachusetts House and Senate.  These bills would ban single-use plastic bags and charge a fee for a recycled paper bag or a single-use bag.

Ninety cities and towns including Boston have already passed bans on plastic bags. Now is the time to ensure that all of Massachusetts is protecting our blue planet. We are urging W2O members to call  or write your state representatives and senators to support passage of these bills.
