Principal's Message
First quarter is done and here we go into the second half of first semester! We're also about ready to wrap up our Fall Sports Season, with Winter Sports anxiously waiting to get started! Meanwhile our special programs are continuing to take part in amazing activities and events.
JROTC
JROTC Cadets participated in their first Basic Leadership Training day on Saturday, October 13th. This leadership training was designed for first-year "freshmen" cadets. During the day, students learned how to lead Physical Training (PT) exercises, how to prepare and wear their uniforms, and how to drill as a member of a team. At the conclusion of the training, all cadets received a ribbon for their JROTC uniform. A highlight of the training was eating an Army M.R.E. (Meal ready to Eat) for lunch. This core group of students will be instrumental in the growth and continued success of the JROTC program.
Vocal Ensemble
Our Vocal Ensemble led by Mr. Hedgecock participated at the choir festival at the University of Redlands last weekend! In this picture we see Dr. Edith Copley giving our FUHS students feedback on their choral performance. She is a Regents’ Professor and the Director of Choral Studies at Northern Arizona University. It's such an amazing opportunity for our students to be able to participate in these kinds of events!
FUHS Marching Band and Pageantry Corps
Our Band and Pageantry Corps Placed 2nd at the South Coast Invitational Field Tournament at Costa Mesa High School on Saturday Oct. 13th. It was a very successful day for your Indians as they were just a mere .5 points out of first place and ranked 1st in Music Performance and Visual Effect captions. The rain forced divisions 1A-3A to perform as an indoor gym competition- they look forward to being out on the field at their next competition in two weeks! Thank you Mr. Trimble for sharing such great news!
Latina Conference
Thank you Ms. Villalba and Ms. Garcia for taking our young ladies to the Latina Conference at Concordia University last weekend! It was super informative and motivational. We hope we can do it again next year.
International Baccalaureate Students
Online Exam registration began on Oct 10, 2018 and ends on Nov 5, 2018 In order to register, students should click on the link provided on the school website or visit  www.TotalRegistration.net/IB/051010 to register.

To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the PDF of the confirmation page that is provided at the end. We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams, but we strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

All registration is final - there is no reimbursement.

Please see Mr. Henderson for any questions.

FUHS Athletics
Thank you Dr. Posthuma for this athletic update!

Athletics for the Week of October 15th-19th;

The Fullerton High Girls Tennis is the big story for this week! The girls tennis team clinched a playoff spot with a 3rd place finish in the Freeway League. Congratulations! The playoff pairings will be released from the CIF on Saturday, Oct. 27. We will know then who their playoff opponent will be.

In high school tennis there are team and individual championships. Therefore, the Freeway League Girls Tennis Individual Championships will be played on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 25 and 26. The matches begin at noon at the tennis center in La Habra. After Friday's matches, we will know if any of our girls will be competing in the CIF Individual Championships as well as the team championships.

Our football team is still in the hunt for a playoff spot. The team lost to Buena Park this last Friday; the boys are of course disappointed. However, the team can clinch a 3rd place finish with win over Troy High School at our last league game on Friday, Oct. 26. The team is currently 1-3 in league, but a win on Friday will be a big lift as we strive to make the playoffs.

Finally, our Boys Water Polo team has 3 important games this week. Water Polo completes in the Freeway League Carousel where the teams play 3 games in 4 days. The league champion will be crowned Thursday night after the 7pm game at the Troy High School pool. Our team is in 4th place in league, but the League Carousel can change that placing in a hurry. Coach Unger is preparing the boys for a playoff run once the Carousel is over. CIF pairings will be released by the CIF on Saturday. Oct. 27.

The Cross Country team competes next week at the Freeway League Championship meet at Clark Park on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Girls Volleyball and Girls Golf have concluded their seasons.
