Shabbat Matters with Rabbi Sid -
Biblical Wisdom and Contemporary Living-Part IV

at 9:30 AM in the Library
(Series continues March 16th and 30th)

It is commonplace to say that the Bible provides guidance for modern living. But in what way is this really true? Most people haven't a clue. For the last three years, Rabbi Sid's Biblical Wisdom course has been so popular he has kept the same format and is now offering Part IV.   The class will be using original sources in translation. The additional text will be our lives.

March Midrash Madness with Micah at 1:00 PM in the Library
(Repeats Sunday, March 10th at 10:00 AM)
Series continues on the 16th and 30th!

If anyone ever told you that " midrash " was just some old rabbis making up stories with the characters in the Torah, you are in for a big surprise. This class will be an introduction to the multiple genres of midrash  and the ingenious tools the Rabbis use to reconstruct the Torah into the living, dynamic rabbinic Judaism that we are the inheritors of today. Together, we'll learn the inside, secret mechanics of some of the most famous  midrashim  and maybe even take a crack at writing a few contemporary  midrashrim  of our own.

Sunday, March 10th
