Chief Cheer Officer, Mac, At Play!
Mac does a great job of providing love and snuggles to our guests most of the week. On Wednesdays and Fridays, he gets to play with his doggy friends at TL Pets Doggy Daycare. Thanks Mac for all you do for our families!

Earn a Car Wash Pass + Enter for a Drawing for a $50 Gift Card
Some of our best volunteer recruiters are our current and former volunteers! As such, we've decided to have a little fun between now and the end of October with a recruitment contest!
- All current and former registered volunteers are eligible to earn a Crew Car Wash pass for every new volunteer they recruit. To earn the pass, the new volunteer needs to attend orientation, complete their training and volunteer for two shifts.
- For every new volunteer you recruit, your name will be entered into the drawing for a $50 VISA gift card.
- If a former registered volunteer decides to return to the House, they are eligible for the car wash pass and will be entered into the drawing.
- Flyers are available to download and print here, so please share and post these around your community! Active on social media? Click here for a shareable image!
So, please phone, email or text your friends about the joy and impact our volunteers have on the families we serve. Remember to tell your friends to contact

Operational Updates
Wish List Items Needed
Please help us stock our pantries! Incoming donations have been down recently, and we're in need of several items such as paper towels, liquid laundry detergent, disinfectant wipes, canned fruit, snack crackers, pudding cups, granola bars, cereal, canned tuna & chicken, canned spaghetti or ravioli, cookies, and chips. A full list of items we need can be found on the Ronald McDonald House website or our
Amazon wish list.
Mattress Covers
We have come across multiple mattress protectors on beds while prepping rooms. The zippered bed bug enclosure goes on first and then the mattress cover.
Please make sure you are only putting one cover on the bed. If you have questions, please speak with the Manager on Duty.
Welcome and Take Home Bag Update
We are currently using the same, charcoal gray drawstring bags for both the welcome and take home bags. When handing them out, please make sure you are providing the correct bag. Quick tip: The welcome bag contains a blanket and toiletry kit. The take home bag is much heavier since it contains canned food items.
Dishtowels
Our supply of dishtowels is running low so if you have any extras you would like to donate to the House, we will take them! We are adding this item to our wishlist but thought we would share this need with some of our most loyal supporters.

Volunteers Needed
-
Calling all gamers! We need help with coordinating our gaming systems which include PS2, PS3, PS4, Wii, Xbox and Nintendo. This includes evaluating the games and systems that have been donated to the House, installing the gaming systems, making sure they are properly secured and helping keep everything organized. We are looking for someone to help on a reoccurring basis.
-
Contact
Patti Cooper at
[email protected] or at (317) 267-0605, ext. 205 for more details.
- We are looking to grow our team of coffee cart hosts on Thursday mornings from 9-11:30 a.m. You can choose to serve weekly, bi-weekly or on an occasional basis. Because you will be serving coffee to families on the patient floors, you will need to complete the on-boarding process for Riley Hospital.
- We need additional volunteers at our Riley location mainly during the lunch hour (12-3 p.m.). Duties include assisting with the check-in process, setting up lunch and light clean up. Meals are already prepared, no cooking necessary.
For more information about these opportunities or if you know someone who would like to join us, contact
Mary Friend at
[email protected] or (317) 267-0605, ext. 225.

Serve and Support the House with the Super Service Challenge
Did you know that you can help raise funds and awareness for the House while
volunteering? Help keep families together by taking the Super Service Challenge! Simply shoot a short video (2 minutes or less) on your phone or tablet and share why you serve at the House and what our mission means to you! Then, upload your video to the
Super Service Challenge website and encourage friends, family and followers to vote for your video. More votes mean more funds for RMHCCIN families! It's that easy!
Visit the Super Service Challenge website for more information on how to participate.

Look Who Was Caught Rolling Out The Red Carpet
Bert Harvey and Rega Kowalski, Guest Services Assistants, caught Guest Services Volunteers, Kelsey Harrington and Adam Hufford, demonstrating cooperation, communication and teamwork.
Bert wrote: "Kelsey is a GSV at Riley that can always find something to do and does it well with speed and accuracy. She likes to keep busy and is very friendly and compassionate with our guests. She also has great computer skills and has been instrumental in helping us enter guest cards. Kelsey also created a database to keep track of the RMHCCIN merchandise."
Rega wrote: "Whenever Adam and I work together on Friday afternoons at Limestone, it seems the House serves dinner. He is always willing to help cook, serve and clean up after the meal. He also has no issues with handling the office on his own. Adam is such an asset."
Thank you, Kelsey and Adam. We appreciate your dedication to teamwork!
Congratulations! Your Crew Carwash pass is in the mail.
Remember, if you catch a volunteer rolling out the red carpet and providing an excellent family experience, please submit a nomination using the form below. Printed copies of this form are also available in the front office at both Limestone and Riley. Each month, all nominations are eligible for a random drawing for a Crew Carwash pass.

Thank you so much for this awesome room! We all feel very welcome. We never thought we would be here, but I'm glad you guys made this happen for us since we live three hours away. This room gives us a place to sleep since we are a family of five. God bless everyone here that helped us out with anything. We are grateful for everything. Thank you so much!
