HEARTSTRINGS Shabbat Service with Cellist Jia Kim + Sponsored Oneg

Kinderlach & Gesher
Saturday, March 9, 9:30-11 a.m.
We’ll greet the Sabbath morning with Rabbi David and then jump into the mindset of Purim! Kinderlach will explore the spirit of Purim while Gesher will dig into what it means to be courageous and what we might learn from Queen Esther and her Shushan acquaintances. We will end the morning with bagels, spreads, and fruit. Please plan to stay!
Did you know that everything is episdn uʍop? At least once a year with Purim, that crazy holiday of debauchery and costumes. Come as you are, and as you want to be, to this most secular Shabbat. Israeli classics and Yiddish favorites will be featured by our JCOGS band and Spontaneous Jewish Choir. Wear your best hat and stay for the funky oneg with El Toro.  RSVP here .
Chair Repair
Sunday, March 17, 4 p.m.
Our floor protectors aren’t protecting our floors; in fact, they’re scratching them. We need a posse with screwdrivers to take the plastic floor protectors off all our chairs and put on non-scratchy felt ones. If you have tools, bring along a Phillip’s head and a flat head screwdriver. The work won’t take long, but our floors will benefit for years to come. RSVP or just show up: jcogs@jcogs.org
Torah Study
Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m.
Come participate in this lively, meaningful discussion as we look deeply into the age-old source of our tradition’s
wisdom.

Join Janie Respitz in her one-woman show performing a parody on the Story of Purim by the great Yiddish Poet Itzik Manger. The narration will be in English while all songs will be sung in Yiddish.
