You can now schedule a CAP conference appointment using the link below. Parent/guardian participation at these conferences is a vital part of the CAP process. Make sure to sign up for your appointment by March 26.

Volleyball tryouts are this week! Tryouts for students going into 7th and 8th grade at Woodland will be Thurs. March 7. Junior high tryouts will be held in WJHS gym. Please complete the registration link below.

Tryouts for Woodland 7th & 8th grade boys basketball will be held at the FHS Gym March 12 & 14. 7th grade tryouts will be from 5-6:30 p.m., and 8th grade tryouts will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. All participants will need a t-shirt with their name on the back and a copy of a current physical. You can sign up online or at the door.

Students interested in being on yearbook next year can pick up applications in the office. They are due Fri., March 8.

Fayetteville Youth Baseball registration is open for the upcoming baseball season. Players can register or find more information online at FYBaseball.com.

If your student is a rising 8th grader NOT in choir this year and would like to be next year, they need to go to the choir room Wed., March 6 before or after school, during advisory, or during second lunch to audition. If they have any questions, they can see Mrs. Housh or Ms. Schlabach.

Congratulations to the Woodland Band! They had 43 performing ensembles compete at the FHS SE Contest with 37 receiving the highest rating of Superior!

Our annual Cowboy Celebration is fast approaching! It will be Fri., May 10, and we need all hands on deck. In order to pull off this huge day, PTO will need your help. Please email Kelly Edmiaston at [email protected] to see how you can help make the most memorable Cowboy Celebration to date!

ExtravaBANDza is This Week

You are invited to the 8th annual ExtravaBANDza this Thurs., March 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Woodland cafeteria. We will have 15 performing ensembles that received superior ratings at Contest followed by our 7th and 8th grade bands.

This year we will be raising money for new student chairs as well as band camp scholarships. There will be a silent auction as well as desserts/finger foods.

Admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Archery Team Competes at State

Congrats to the Woodland Archery Team on competing in the State Tournament in Hot Springs last Friday.

They placed 11th our of 45 teams, and the competition was tough! Abi Minor was the top scorer for the girls, coming in 8th place out of 245 girls. Evan Culpepper was the top scorer for the boys. These kids worked hard and represented our school well. The other team members are Mattea Hoskins, Corianna Miles, Ezra Anderson, Olivia Young, Edie Brannon, George Crouch, Parker Tompkins, Trevor Rice, Hap Hall, Zach Miller, Simon Mathis, Aiden Ramsey, and Thomas Hall.

Feb. 5: Bulldog Bash field trip to FHS from 8:45-11:45 & FHS staff will be at Woodland after lunch to help students select courses

Feb. 6: FHS Parent Info Night from 5:30-6:30

-rising 9th graders in the PAC

-rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox

Feb. 7: Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)

Feb. 27: CAP conferences for 9th-12th grades, FHS Commons from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Current 7th Grade Parents: Tues., Jan. 29 your student brought home a Career Action Planning (CAP) information letter that explains the CAP process, the vital part parents/guardians play in the process, and how to schedule a CAP conference.

Free Tutoring Options

We have several free tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.

As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.
