Light Up Your Night at Remick Museum & Farm
A family-friendly evening of adventure beginning at 5:00 p.m.
TAMWORTH VILLAGE, NH, OCTOBER 15, 2018  -- The fun gets glowing at Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth Village as it presents Nocturnal Adventures on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 5–8 p.m.

Outdoor enchantment will be the theme of this family-friendly evening, creating an adventurous brew of experiential learning and sheer fun. Visitors can take a guided flashlight tour of the museum’s historic cattle barn, venture out on a scavenger hunt along the museum’s Binsack Trail as they learn about nocturnal creatures, play glow-in-the-dark versions of historic games, and use their “hands-on” knowledge to guess what’s in nature-themed mystery boxes.

To add to the evening’s charm, each of the museum’s educators will be costumed and a Remick “scarecrow” will share animal-themed stories. For those who venture into the final hour of the event, a warming campfire is the spot to savor a sweet treat of roasted marshmallows and s’mores. As the event draws to a close, a glowing patch of pumpkins will be seen floating on the farm pond.

“For people who are looking for an alternative to the more typical seasonal event, we’re offering an unplugged evening that provides them with a low-cost outdoor activity they can enjoy with family and friends of all ages. It’s what Remick is known for and what we love to do,” said Dawn Evans, the museum’s program manager.

Other activities include getting to know the night sky using a star guide (skies permitting), a walk along an illuminated constellation path, and tastings of spicy cider vinegar from the Remick apothecary, made to ward off colds, the flu, and whatever else might ail you. F resh-popped popcorn and hot mulled cider will be available for purchase.

Admission is $5.00, payable at the event, with no charge for children ages 4 and under. Attendees are welcome to wear costumes and should bring a headlamp or flashlight for each person in their party. For additional details about the event, call Remick Museum at 603-323-7591. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2018; rain date notification will be posted on the museum’s website and social media channels.
