Insurance Q&A Session Links

Village's Voice about two upcoming meetings of the Task Force on Friday, March 8th and Friday, March 15th. Both meetings will be from 4-6pm. Call-in information is provided.

BHI property owners should watch for the revaluation information that was mailed by Brunswick County in late February. Conducted every four years by the County, revaluation is the process of reappraising the value of property to current market value. All property owners have the right to appeal their appraisal and should appeal online at

Last Chance for Garden Plots
Only three large plots and four small plots are available for leasing in BHA's Community Garden, which is located in N. Bald Head Wynd across from TimberCreek. Large plots can be leased for $250 and the small ones for $100 annually. Property owners who are interested in leasing a plot should contact Diane Mesaris at

Calling History Volunteers!
Bald Head Association and the Old Baldy Foundation are partnering again on a project to help preserve the history of Bald Head Island for generations to come. And, this time, you don't even have to be on BHI to help out!
The project entails creating searchable tags for pictures that are already uploaded to Old Baldy's online photo database. Email Travis Gilbert at
travis@oldbaldy.org to let him know you'd like to participate and he'll send you directions to get started.

Handmade Card Class

Join Pattie Caban for this fun class on card making with stamps! Class size is limited to 8 individuals (ages 12 and older). The fee is $30 for 12 cards (4 each of 3 different designs). All materials needed to complete the cards are furnished. Contact BHA at 910-457-4676, ext. 21 with questions.

3rd Monday Potluck Dinner

Friends of Music Concert

The next Friends of Music Concert takes place at 7:30pm on Friday, March 8th and features The Sheets - a talented trumpet and organ duet. While attendance is free of charge (thanks to the generosity of many friends of music), the expenses of bringing musicians of this caliber to the island are not cheap, with travel, accommodations and meals.

BADWATER Cape Fear Race
Saturday, March 16th 7:45am start time at Old Baldy
Organized by AdventureCORPS, Inc., the BADWATER CAPE FEAR is a 51.4-mile ultra running race featuring a twelve-mile warm-up around BHI followed by 38 miles of running up East Beach to Fort Fisher.
Please stay aware of runners throughout the day and keep in mind that runners will be on the course throughout the Island up until 9:45pm when the 51-mile race course closes at the Conservancy. For more information, visit

The next Howl at the Moon Sunset/Moonrise Party takes place on Wednesday, March 20th from 6:30-8:30pm at Beach Access #39. BYOB and bring an appetizer to share. The Maritime Market will bring a huge pot of hot soup for all to enjoy.

Annual Boy Scout Breakfast

BHA's Association Center
This year's annual Boy Scout Breakfast will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 9am at the Association Center. This year's speaker is Dr. Ellis Tinsley Jr., a leading North Carolina Surgeon in both vascular and general surgery. He's also an Eagle Scout and received scouting's highest volunteer award for his strong support of scouting. As always, the breakfast is free of charge, but it is a fundraiser, so you'll have an opportunity to contribute to our local Boy Scout Council.
