“Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:19
Dear Friends,
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Christian season of Lent. On Ash Wednesday we remember that we are human, mortal, and that our lives are short.
In the words of the prayer
written by the late Bishop Ken Untener of Saginaw,
"We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something, and to do it very well.”
In this time of pondering and penitence, may we discover freedom in doing something that is good, and in doing it very well.
Blessings,

We will also honor extraordinary individuals and organizations whose courage, moral vision and commitment to action have contributed profoundly to making Oregon, and the world, a better place.

Interfaith Advocacy Day 2019
|
|
Thank you to everyone who attended Interfaith Advocacy Day on Monday, March 4!
|
|
Weren't able to attend Interfaith Advocacy Day this year? Were you there and want ways to bring your congregation into advocacy? Join us for Public Witness in the Pews 2019, bringing public policy and faith life together.
EMO has created a series of worship bulletin inserts for free use in congregations across Oregon. Each insert highlights one of the key legislative priority areas that EMO and its members are working on this Legislative Session. These inserts educate your congregation about climate justice, youth homelessness, criminal justice reform, and refugee services - and ways they can take action for the Oregon we want to be.
