Of No Fixed Address at Artspace Maynard
in Maynard, Massachusetts through April 5

Artspace Maynard
Siddharth Choudhary, Coming to America, pigment print on canvas, 2018.

From now until April 5, Artspace Maynard is showing Of No Fixed Address, a collection of digital works by artist Siddharth Choudhary. Choudhary has spent the past decade living in Mumbai, Paris and Hong Kong before finally arriving in New England. He draws upon his memories of travel to create works that explore relationships that transcend borders, and works of art that defy labels. His process involves drawing the piece digitally on an iPad, coloring it in Photoshop with a graphics drawing tablet, and using a large format inkjet printer to make a final print on canvas. As Choudhary says, "Of No Fixed Address is as much drawings as it is paintings, prints or video." Each colorful piece serves as a point of connection between people, places and things across national, cultural, social and ethnic borders. There will be an opening reception for Of No Fixed Address on Saturday, March 9 from 5:007:00 p.m. Artspace Maynard is located at 63 Summer Street in Maynard, Massachusetts and is open WednesdaySaturday 11:00 a.m.3:00 p.m. For more information, visit artspacemaynard.com/current-gallery.

Ron Rosenstock: Scenes from Iceland and Greenland at Vermont Center for Photography
in Brattleboro, Vermont through March 31

Vermont Center for Photography
Ron Rosenstock.

Ron Rosenstock: Scenes from Iceland and Greenland is on view through March 31 at Vermont Center for Photography. Rosenstock has been a photographer and artist since the 1950s, and has exhibited his work in over 100 shows across the world. Scenes from Iceland and Greenland contains a selection of Rosenstock's photographs, which he digitally alters to reflect how he felt as he exposed each image. His work aims to show the landscapes of Iceland and Greenland and replicate their energy as authentically as possible. As he explains, "For me photographing the landscape of Iceland and Greenland is like experiencing the birth of our planet where natural forces are still at work creating and shaping the land. I feel that remarkable energy both in Iceland and Greenland and strive to express it through my photographs." His works create a new, more accurate reality that captures each scene better than if the viewer had been there when he first took the photo. There will be an artist talk with Rosenstock on Sunday, March 31 from 4:005:00 p.m. Vermont Center for Photography is located at 49 Flat Street in Brattleboro, Vermont, and is open ThursdaySunday 12:005:00 p.m. For more information, please visit vcphoto.org/ron-rosenstock-scenes.

Alaska in Two Weeks at 6 Bridges Gallery
in Maynard, Massachusetts through April 6

6 Bridges Gallery
Ernest Stonebraker.

Alaska in Two Weeks is currently on view through April 6 at 6 Bridges Gallery. This exhibition features photographs by artist Ernest Stonebraker, taken while he and his wife were on a two-week tour of Alaska. Although he commonly works with paint, Stonebraker took to photography to capture the sights during his land and sea cruise of Alaska with Holland America. The trip gave Stonebraker fantastic views and opportunities to speak with indigenous people. According to the Alaska in Two Weeks exhibition page, "some parts of the tour were so choreographed that Disney might have organized them," but "the brief tour yielded spectacular landscapes and more intimate close-up views." The exhibition gives the viewer a taste of Alaska's beauty, without making them brave Alaska's cold. There will be an artist reception for Alaska in Two Weeks on Saturday, March 23 from 7:009:00 p.m. 6 Bridges Gallery is loacted at 77 Main Street in Maynard, Massachusetts and is open Tuesday 11:00 a.m.3:00 p.m., WednesdayFriday 11:00 a.m.6:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m.5:00 p.m. For more information, please visit 6bridges.gallery/alaska-in-two-weeks.
