A message from Rabbi Silverman
The number of children in our IADS membership family is approaching double-chai. That means that number has more than tripled in the last five years, and it continues to grow. These kids are (sometimes jumping) on the bima, and they, along with their parents, are celebrating and studying Judaism together. Our new family education program, Dor Hadash, was recently featured in the
cover story of the Jewish News, and our megillah reading this year will begin with a costume parade of some of these younger members.
As our community commits to teaching Judaism from generation to generation, these kids will learn from us, and we will learn from them, as we study, pray, sing, comfort, and celebrate. May we listen to their questions as they inspire us to ask our own. May our synagogue walls resound with the voices of Jews from birth ad me'ah v'esrim (to 120 years old!) as we grow together.
I also hold the deep pain of those in our community who wish to have children and for whom the journey to parenthood has been heartbreaking and sometimes feels hopeless. I recognize that seeing new babies can be bittersweet. Please know that I have been there, and
I am here for you.

Spring Reboot: Yoga and Smoothies
Thursday, March 14th, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue
Reboot for the Spring renewal through detoxifying yoga and freshly blended smoothies. Join us as we delve into new ways of simplifying our lives through healthy practices, led by Emilie Kahn and Yifat Clein.
This class will be vigorous, with a focus on detoxing our bodies and rebooting our metabolism for spring. Please refrain from eating for at least an hour prior to class, and be sure to stay hydrated.
Emulating Esther: A Jewish Women's Brunch and Serve
Sunday, March 17th, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Join us in partnership with Repair The World Detroit for this event. This event is open to all folks who identify as women and are interested in building sisterhood. Together we will engage in a service project with the Positive Period Campaign while enjoying brunch, mimosas, and a panel style discussion about Jewish womanhood featuring Rabbi Alana Alpert from Detroit Jews for Justice and Congregation T'chiyah, Rabbi Ariana Silverman from Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, and Rabbi Aura Ahuvia from Congregation Shir Tikvah.
Tickets are $18 and can be purchased here.

The Downtown Synagogue Purim Party
Wednesday, March 20th, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue
Join the Downtown Synagogue at our annual community reading of the Megillah for the holiday of Purim to commemorate the defeat of Haman's plot to get rid of the Jews, foiled by the heroic and dazzling Esther.
Arrive at 7:00 p.m. to see the children's costume parade leading up to the sanctuary, and stay after for an adult costume contest with prizes, hamentashen, and drinks. Don't forget your pasta boxes to use as groggers! Additional food donations will be brought to Yad Ezra.
What's A Jew To Do? The Jewish Response to the Rise of White Nationalism
Thursday, March 28th, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Join us for a moderated panel discussion on white nationalism, how Jews fit into this ideology and strategies for proactively responding as a community.
This program is free of charge, but please register by Wednesday, March 27th so we can provide adequate space and food.

| Call for Mi Shebeirach
During our Shabbat morning worship, we read the names of people in our community who are in need of healing. As we invoke God's blessing, we also become more aware of the people who could use a little extra care. Please let us know if you would like us to read the name of a loved one.

Help Us Cook!
We're always seeking volunteers to help us in the kitchen! We pride ourselves on our delicious home cooked Shabbat meals. If you want to contribute to the synagogue by cooking, please contact our Kitchen Coodinator to get on the schedule.
Clean House!
As we work to clean up and clear out in our Synagogue, we ask your cooperation. If you notice a spill, please wipe it up. If you drop crumbs, please clean them up. If you use the kitchen, please clean up. If you have extra papers or handouts, please take them home to recycle them. Just a reminder: please no food or drinks (other than water) are allowed on the 2nd floor. As we continue to create our welcoming communal home, please help us to keep it inviting. As the saying goes, "it takes a village."

Whether you have joy you wish to share in song or you are feeling in the mood to just be quietly present, we have a place reserved just for you. Services at 6:00 pm followed by a deliciously prepared Kosher vegetarian dinner. End your hectic work week with
ruach and community.

Where would Jews be without the Torah? Torah is the center of our Saturday Shabbat service. It is a mitzvah to make a
minyan so we can read the Torah and people can say
kaddish. Please come to the Saturday morning Shabbat service at 10:00. We want to pass the Torah
l'dor vador.
