Student success cannot occur if students experience barriers to learning. Prevention Services, operated by Eaton RESA for the tri-county area, offers the consultation services, professional development and training, technical assistance, and resource coordination needed to help schools and communities prevent the risky behaviors and negative health outcomes that interfere with learning. Prevention Services strives to provide or promote research-informed and evidence-based strategies and programs to support students in reaching their full potential.

2019 Heartwood School Polar Plunge
Mark your calendars for February 10, 2019 to take part in all the fun of celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Lansing Area Polar Plunge. The 2019 Lansing Polar Plunge will be held at the Cooley Law School Stadium - home to the Lansing Lugnuts. Plungers experience the thrill of jumping into a pool of ice cold water while raising funds and awareness for the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Michigan! Registration will start at 11:00 am and the plunge will start at 1:00 pm. Awards and the After Splash Bash will begin immediately after the last plunger. Join our Heartwood Tigers, and register yourself or a team!

SPS Peer Mentoring Program Receives Award
The Spartan Project SEARCH (SPS) peer mentoring program was recently selected as a recipient of the
2019 Jon C. Dalton Institute on College Student Values Best Practices Award! Kudos to Peer Mentors, Ben Strong, Blair Dammerman and Johnny Wenzel, who are truly the ones doing the amazing work behind the scenes bringing about the great success of our program! The SPS peer mentoring team will be honored during an awards luncheon and will present about the program in a dedicated session.
