Ed Fund and Tech Fund Update
Payroll deductions, monthly contributions and matching donations are continuing to help us i
n
important ways! Our totals now stand at $81,753 for Ed Fund (short of our budget by almost $14,000) and $10,266 in Matching Donations. We met our Tech Fund budget of $22,000 and that money has already been spent on sparkling new chromebooks that are in student hands right now.
Can you imagine what we could do for our Foothill students if everyone that donated got it matched by their employer?? Companies generally LOVE to tout their charitable giving, so think about how you are doing them a favor by Asking for the Match (ha!). If your donation receipt is nowhere to be found (because let's be honest, who can keep track of all that beginning of school year paperwork?), please email me at
edfundfmspfa@gmail.com
and I will send you a copy of your receipt - whether you paid
online or at Walk Through.
And if you haven't made your donation yet there's still time! No penalty for late arrivals :-) We welcome and appreciate your donation of any size. Click
here to donate now!!

Holidays from the PFA!
On behalf of the PFA, I'd like to wish all our Foothill families,

I would also like to thank all the members of the PFA who are giving back to the school by volunteering their time and talents to lead efforts in fundraising, campus clean-up, beautification and safety, organizing special activities and events, providing lunches for teachers, and so much more!
Your efforts are truly helping improve and enrich our student's experiences while at Foothill.
See you next year!

Donors Choose Projects
We appreciate all of the financial support our community donates to all of our programs. Providing a list of our teacher's Donors Choose projects is not intended to keep hitting the same people up financially. However, we are sharing this list since our community members were asking for local funding opportunities. Donors Choose is designed to reach contributors beyond the parents and guardians at Foothill Middle School.
The holidays are about giving towards worthy causes, why not donate towards your childs teacher through Donors Choose! If you would like to donate towards a project we have some really great Donors Choose Projects.
Mr. Davis from wood shop has a project request for a
MIG welder for the welding class.
Ms. Wesser-Singh has a project request "
Keep Calm and Picnic On!" She is requesting a picnic table for outside the classroom to be used for collaborative learning while being outdoors.
All of these projects are terrific and maybe you know someone who would like to donate this holiday season, if so, pass it on! All of these projects need to be funded by the middle of March.

New this year, Foothill PFA will be moving to an online directory using Konstella.
Enter your email address to receive an invitation and then follow the link to register. You will be prompted to enter a password as well as add a child. If you have multiple children at Foothill, you can add each one to their grade. You will be able to set your privacy preferences to select what information is shared in the directory.
You may also download the Konstella app for your phone so that you can have directory and calendar information on the go. Konstella also allows you to sync our calendar with your Google, iPhone, or other online calendars.

LCAP SPEAKER SERIES - "SOCIAL MEDIA'S IMPACT ON YOUNG PEOPLE'S SELF IMAGE"
Experts say young people view social media through the lens of their own lives. If they're struggling to stay on top of things or suffering from low self-esteem, they're more likely to interpret images of peers having fun as confirmation that they're doing badly compared to their friends.
Please join us on Tuesday, January 22, starting at 6 pm at Mt. Diablo High School, as we welcome back Speaker Series favorite, Thomas Dodson with
Above
the
Above the Fray to give families the tools they need to begin meaningful dialogues about the
digital lives of young people, the pitfalls and the positives. Spanish translation will be provided!

Thanks to all the Turkey Trot Runners and Volunteers!
On behalf of PEAK Education Foundation, we would like to thank all the families who helped support the schools by running or volunteering in the Walnut Creek Turkey Trot. It turned out to be a sunny glorious morning for a run, walk or jog. We won't know the total proceeds for another few months but based on the morning crowds at the event, we're sure it was a great success.
