GPL's December Newsletter
In this season of generosity and giving it is good to remember that a library is a community’s gift to itself, one that can be used in dozens of ways and countless times throughout the year. Whether it is for research, entertainment, learning or simply a quiet place where one can take refuge from the bustle and distraction of everyday activities, the library provides our community with opportunities to discover and grow through every stage of life. Foremost among our values is that we are ‘welcoming, open to all and here to help.’

Our staff is dedicated to making sure that everyone who comes into our library discovers a dynamic environment that is safe and fun. In that way we serve as a source for learning, literacy, discovery and delight that can enrich us all not only through the long dark nights of winter, but the entire year. Visit us online to open up a world of electronic resources or come in to see the amazing array of wonderful things you have given yourself at your Greenburgh Public Library. Happy Holidays and best wishes for the New Year!

Everyone has a story about reading; what books mean to them, where they like to read, when they first began reading. In this blog series, I have reached out to Greenburgh patrons asking what makes them ravenous readers and what they like to consume most. Here is the first story from Kathy, a long time Greenburgh patron.

Is it where you were born? Where you immigrated to? Where you happen to be right now? Maybe it's who you are with and the "where" doesn't matter...
