  • Hot off the presses! The annual report from the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS), Child Maltreatment 2016 is now available for downloading from this link. This is the 26th edition of a report that is an excellent indicator of CPS activity in a state. When attempting to use this data from trend analysis, be aware that variations in laws, regulations, definitions, policies and procedures between states, and within a specific state over time limit the utility for comparisons and trend analysis. APSAC will be preparing an analysis of this report within the next six weeks; check our website.
