Choir All-Region Results
All-region auditions on Oct. 13 where 25 choir kids competed against other middle school choir kids from surrounding districts.  They learned two pieces of music on their own and sang for a blind, individual audition.  They worked for two months perfecting their music and building their confidence singing alone, many without the help of a private instructor due to a change in voice teachers this year.

Fourteen students made one of the three honor choirs and will be performing on the All-Region choir concert in November.  Congratulations to all who participated.

Employee of the Month
Darcy Adams
The October Employee of the Month is Darcy Adams.  She was selected by her peers because of the amount of time and dedication being the yearbook adviser takes along with the other responsibilities of the classroom.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington, Adams worked in publishing for two years.  Upon receiving her teaching certification, she taught at Everman High School and LD Bell High School for a total of five years before beginning a career at CMS 10 years ago.

Besides yearbook, Adams teaches photography, video broadcast, and careers classes.  She thinks the best part of teaching is when students realize that they have talent and understand a new concept.

In her spare time, Adams enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and spending time withe her family and friends.
