That's why he wasn't surprised when more than 900 attendees came to see more than 100 booths at the chamber's annual gala and expo Friday at the
Palisadium in Cliffside Park.

Luis De La Hoz, the vice chairman of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, gushed about his trip to the governor's mansion Thursday. De La Hoz and many other members of the Hispanic community were invited by Gov. Phil
Murphy for an event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. And they talked with the governor in ways they haven't before.
"I have been there before," he said. "But this was the first time I really felt comfortable and wanted. It was a great evening. They listened."

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ is airing this week on NJTV to highlight
the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Town Hall Series and successful efforts being made statewide to help stem the
ongoing opioid crisis.
The special will examine the impact of the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Town Hall Series, primarily through experts in various fields that participated in the program.
Watch it air at 9 p.m. Thursday, October 18 or at 10 p.m. Monday, October 29.
The series, organized by the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey and The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, helped bring vital information on the opioid crisis ravaging New Jersey to all 21 counties in the state.

About HETP Program
Program participants will be equipped with the resources and know-how to start and/or expand their businesses. The course's focus is creating a comprehensive business plan, and expanding participants' knowledge. The
HETP seeks to provide Hispanic-owned businesses the resources to become viable assets in the communities that they serve.
Classes will commence February 2019 and will consist of
15 Friday morning sessions of 4 hours each.
