2019 Winter Convocation
The theme for this year's Winter Convocation is "Speaking our Faith." As always, it will be at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky. This year's event will run from 7:00 p.m. on Friday,
February 1 through 3:00 p.m. on Saturday,
February 2. Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Kit Carlson. We will have a second guest speaker, Heidi Carter, who will offer workshops on youth ministry in smaller congregations. Leading us in music will be our own George Baum, rector of St. Timothy's, Massillon; and we are hoping to put together a Convocation Choir. With 16 best practice workshops, a children's program, and a youth program, the Winter Convocation offers something for everyone. Additional information and registration is available at

The Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival
The 56th presentations of The Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival in Cleveland will be held on Saturday, December 29 at Trinity Cathedral. Presentations will be held at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The 3:00 p.m. presentation will have an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for the deaf community.
There are openings for at least 15 people to dress as Elizabethans, fill 2 Beefeater costumes, and 3 torch-bearer costumes. None of these roles require much singing. The rehearsal day is Thursday December 27 at 5:00 p.m. All performers must be available from 12:00-7:00 p.m. on December 29. If you are interested in performing, email

St. Paul's, Cleveland Heights organist Karel Paukert will offer Olivier Messiaen's La Nativité du Seigneur (The Nativity of the Lord) at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday,
January 6. The cycle consists of nine movements: Th
e Virgin and Child, The Shepherds, Eternal Purposes, The Word, The Children of God, The Angels, Jesus Suffers Torment, The Magi, and

St. John's, Youngstown Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival
Tickets are now on sale for the 58th annual Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival held at St. John's, Youngstown. The festival will take place on
January 6 at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Performance tickets are $10 each. Dinner tickets with preferred performance seating are available for $25. The dinners will be held at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and will feature a traditional roast beef feast complete with wassail. The festival this year will include bagpipers, drummers, and a cast of approximately 100 parishioners dressed in medieval costume. Tickets may be purchased at
