Greetings!
Spring is a time of hope and change! Nature is hard at work transforming our landscape into a vibrant green carpet sprinkled with fragrant blossoms and flowers. Children are venturing outdoors to feel the warm sun kiss their cheeks.
Hope and change are in the air! You can just feel it! Growth is a big part of CFGC and we are so excited to share all the happenings with you. Please take a few minutes to catch up with us. Happy Spring!
Sincerely,
Brenda Hayward

Healing Happens Here
a Client Success Story
|
Every single day, healing happens within the walls of CFGC. We are constantly reminded of just how resilient the human mind and heart really are. Please take a few moments to read about the real healing that happens here.
Clair* was the victim of a brutal domestic violence situation. Often times, Clair's children would witness the cruel abuse of their mother. The abuse was reported to law enforcement but, as in many domestic violence cases, the charges were dropped. This happens for many reasons, but often times, the abuser is also the sole provider for the family or the abuser threatens further harm to loved ones or pets.
At the beginning of Clair's therapy journey, she had left the abusive relationship, but she was unable to take her small children with her. She had also lost custody of her oldest child from a previous relationship due to multiple suicide attempts.
After two and a half years of therapy, Clair has been able to work through the sexual, emotional, and physical abuse she experienced as a child. She was able to regain custody of her oldest child within the first nine months of therapy and is now fighting for custody of her two youngest children. Clair still has a long road ahead of her, but she shows us that we can lose just about everything but our resiliency and our ability to make positive choices for a better life.

Mental Health Access Improvement Act
Currently, marriage & family therapists and mental health counselors (like those at CFGC) are not eligible Medicare providers despite the important role they play in delivering prevention, treatment, and recovery services to older adults and people with disabilities.
To help the Mental Health Access Improvement Act (S. 286/H.R. 945) move quickly to passage,
we need your help
in showing broad support for legislation by gathering cosponsors for the legislation.
Join with us and please take two minutes today to urge your legislators to cosponsor the Mental Health Access Improvement Act (S. 286/H.R. 945).

5 Ways to Say "I Love You" Without Saying "I Love You"
Loving words to enhance your relationship
Author
Kathy McCoy Ph.D.
There may have been a time before commitment or marriage, a time when you and/or your dates carefully avoided words that spoke of lifetime promises, a time when you longed to hear the words “I love you.” But now — could you ever have imagined it? — there may be times when you hear your partner say "I love you!" and wonder . . . does he really mean it? Is she just saying that out of habit?
If “I love you!” is beginning to feel less meaningful these days, how else can you express your love? These are just a few suggestions for variations that can give extra weight and meaning to your words of love.
