Winter Vacation in LPS Begins Friday
It is hard to believe, but the conclusion of first semester and the beginning of winter break is right on our doorstep. Don't forget that LPS will be on a two-hour early release schedule on Friday, December 21, 2018. Winter Vacation will then take place from Monday, December 24, 2018 - January 4, 2019, for students. Following a teacher workday on Monday, January 7, 2019, (no school for students), second semester will begin on Tuesday, January 8. All of us at Liberty Public Schools would like to wish our families a safe and enjoyable upcoming holiday season!
Coffee with the Community
Scheduled for Thursday
We hope you can make plans to join us for our final Coffee with the Community meeting of the semester coming up tomorrow (Thursday, December 20) from the 3rd floor Board Room of the LPS District Administration Center. '19-'20 Academic Calendar Approved
Among the agenda items approved at the Tuesday, December 18, Board of Education meeting was the LPS Academic Calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. Click here to view the '19-'20 District Academic Calendar. Click here to view the '19-'20 EPiC calendar. Important dates to take note of include: The first day of school will be August 14, 2019. Winter vacation will be December 23, 2019 - January 3, 2020. Spring break will be March 16-20, 2020. And the last day of school will take place May 20, 2020. As in previous years, any inclement weather days incurred during the school year will be made up at the end of the school year.

Golden Girls with High Marks at Competition
This past weekend, the Liberty North Golden Girls competed at the Dance Team Union Regional Competition in Lee's Summit. They ended up placing 1st place in their hip hop routine and 2nd place in their precision jazz routine. They also had five soloists compete. In the senior category (ages 16-18), Alaina Lee placed 2nd, Annalise Pinedo placed 10th, Courtney Rowe placed 11th, and Shelby Whitley placed 20th out of 37 soloists. In the junior category (ages 13-15), Caroline Utz placed 5th out of 15 soloists. In February, the Golden Girls will travel to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the Dance Team Union National Championship. The Golden Girls consist of 17 dancers: Rachel Cascone, Madison Currey, Emma Damman (captain), Makenzie Horn, Alaina Lee (captain), Cara Nedeau, Tyci O'Quinn, Parker Paredes, Annalise Pinedo, Kaylin Robinson, Courtney Rowe, Amelia Snedigar, Alexa Spurlock, Mia Spurlock, Rylie Turner, Caroline Utz, and Shelby Whitley. The team is coached by Tiffany Cunningham and Mallory Gooch
