Thousands of Los Angeles County children end up in the homes of relatives or other caregivers, separated from their parents due to family violence, substance abuse, or mental illness.
Most of these children are under 9 years old.
Many r
elatives want to keep these children out of foster care and give them permanent homes; but unfortunately, they don't have the ability to navigate the difficult and potentially expensive adoption process.
