OPTIONAL DRESS DOWN DAY

Thursday, February 28th has been designated an optional dress down day to help the Pencils of Promise program alongside 19 of our other area Catholic schools. Pencils of Promise is a non-profit organization that partners with the governments of Laos, Ghana, and Guatemala to sustainably improve the access to education in each country. In the past 10 years they have built 502 schools worldwide and have changed the lives of nearly 100,000 children through education. The Omaha Pencils of Promise chapter, founded in 2018 by Creighton students, is a group of students which supports the mission of Pencils of Promise in the Omaha community. They are currently raising money to build a school in Laos, dedicated to the city of Omaha. Students and staff will be able to dress down for $1 (or more) on Thursday, February 28.

FALL FUNDRAISER
For many years, SPSL has been fortunate to have parent volunteers step up to Chair our annual Fall Fundraiser - our biggest fundraiser of the year. The 2018 event was incredibly successful both with regard to attendance and funds raised, bringing in over $103,000.

Despite many attempts to secure Chairs for the next SPSL Fall Fundraiser, we do not currently have Chairs for 2019, and the success of our next fundraiser is in question unless we secure Chairs soon.

An army of amazing Committee Chair volunteers has already signed on to do their part for 2019; but we desperately need parents to answer the call to Chair the event. Chairs can be couples or groups of parents who would make a great team. Chairs will be provided a detailed outline of what needs to be done and when, and the SPSL Development Team is here to support the Chairs along the way. Please prayerfully consider helping SPSL by Chairing the 2019 Fall Fundraiser. Please contact Michaela Smith at  michaela.smith@spsl.net  or 402-551-6667.
