The back-to-back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, along with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Good Tidings Foundation, dedicated "Draymond Green Court" at the Downtown Oakland YMCA on Friday, February 22. Warriors forward Draymond Green and Warriors ambassador Jason Richardson were in attendance for the court dedication ceremony which was followed by an NBA-style basketball workout for roughly 30 Bay Area youth basketball players, hosted by Green and Warriors Basketball Camps."Draymond is a huge part of our team's identity, heart and soul, much like he is with the City of Oakland," said Bob Myers, Warriors President of Basketball Operations/General Manager. "This dedication under his name is a great way to commemorate his passion for the city while providing the community with a newly refurbished court to play and create a place for people to share their passion for the game." -- Courtesy Warriors press release. How low can you go? Stephen Jackson wants to know!
Jackson and Jason Richardson suited up for the Warriors during the team's famed 'We Believe' era and were key members of the team's 2007 NBA Playoffs run which saw the Warriors complete the historic first round upset over the
#1 seeded Dallas Mavericks, the first #8 seed to prevail over a #1 seed in a best-of-seven series.

Students were eager and ready for Math Hoops. In its fifth year, Math Hoops is a partnership between the Warriors, Accenture, and Learn Fresh which teaches students fundamental math skills through basketball statistics. The Math Hoops curriculum is tied to Common Core Standards and 21st Century Skills. Since the Warriors began running the program in 2015, it has impacted nearly 13,000 Bay Area students who have played more than 105,000 Math Hoops games.

Sonoma Raceway --
Charity Karting Event
Three NHRA Funny Car Champions Headline -- Proceeds Benefit Speedway Children's Charities
SONOMA, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2019) - Adrenaline seekers and racing enthusiasts can go head-to-head against four stars of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series on the Sonoma Raceway kart track at the 17th annual NHRA Tour de Charity on Saturday, March 23.
Three NHRA Funny Car Champions will headline this year's event, as reigning champion JR Todd joins long-time participants Ron Capps and Jack Beckman, as well as Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Scotty Pollacheck. This popular event provides an all-inclusive day of karting fun on the raceway's ¾-mile kart track, including kart rental, race suit, helmet, professional driving instruction, catered lunch, plus meet-and-greets and autographs with the NHRA racers for just $350 per person.
All proceeds benefit Speedway Children's Charities, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway, which has generated more than $175,000 from this event since its inception in 2003.
"I've heard so much about this event from Ron and Jack, and there's been a lot of trash talking about who's fastest in a kart, so I'm excited to finally have a chance to put the rubber to the road," said Todd, a three-time Sonoma Raceway winner. "The fact that the proceeds benefit SCC and helps kids makes it even better."
The Simraceway Performance Driving Center, which operates the karting center, provides the karts, race suits, classroom instruction and on-track pointers for all competitors. The day will also feature a chance for the top-10 participants to compete in a 10-lap timed race at the end of day. All karting levels are welcome. Participants must be 13 years or older, 4'10" in height, and weigh less than 250 lbs.
"I love this event and that it benefits Speedway Children's Charities," said 15-year participant John Montes of Oakley. "I couldn't think of a better charity that helps out the kids of Sonoma County, and I will continue to come out here year after year."
