Principal Points from Sheryl Hough
Fall Conference Format a Huge Success
Fall conferences are behind us and we are excited to share that our teachers were busier than ever. This was the first time our fall conferences were not scheduled with advisors. Instead, you were able to schedule appointments with the specific teachers you wanted to visit. We added the additional afternoon of Nov. 26 to connect with parents who work nights. We felt like this model worked as teachers met with many more students and their parents. Our goal continues to be to ensure the success of every child, and your partnership with us provides that support and consistency to help your child thrive. Thank you!
Thank You for the Delicious Conference Dinner!
We are so grateful for the cooking, baking and shopping talent demonstrated by our parents who contributed to our staff taco bar dinner during conference evenings. It was truly appreciated by everyone. Thank you!
PACE Day
We ran our first ever Pre-Thanksgiving PACE Day, on Wed. Nov. 21. Twenty-two students attended to get additional academic support and catch up on their power standards/learning targets. Three teachers were available to facilitate and support student learning. Thanks again, parents, for partnering with us to help your children. We will run more PACE days during the winter months and around Spring Break. Watch for more information.
Holiday Season
As the holidays approach there is much excitement around West. The concerts, events and enthusiasm are all appreciated as it is a joyous time of year. Enjoy this holiday season and take time to relax, be grateful, reflect and enjoy your family and friends. Happy Holidays!

Free Food for the Weekends for Families in Need
The Sheridan Story has come along side of CMSW to help consistently supply nutritious food for every weekend for families in need. At the end of each week nutritious food bags are discreetly put into student lockers to bring home. This free, confidential program has no requirements but
families need to fill out the permission form in order for students to receive the bags of food. Here is a link to the
form in English and the
form in Spanish.

Box Tops for Education
We collect box tops to earn cash for our school. Please clip and bring them into the Main Office.

From the District Office
Task force looks to district's future, including 2019 referendum
Beginning in October, a task force began reviewing information from facility and enrollment studies conducted by the district in early 2018. The group will prioritize needs for essential school maintenance and new construction required to match projected enrollment growth. In early 2019, the task force will make recommendations to the school board. In the spring, the board will go through the process to decide what to ask of the public in a referendum in November 2019. HERE.
Upcoming school year calendar coming early next year
Calendars for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years are currently in development. When they are ready, we will provide a link in our school newsletter and at
