Woodland Auto Display Updates

We've all been anxiously awaiting the opening of the latest expansion to the  Woodland Auto Display . It's not quite ready yet, but it's getting close. Floors and final electrical are scheduled for the last week of February. Then comes the move-in of all the new displays.  Sorry, it's not going to happen overnight! But it will be worth the wait!

Now for a heads up!  There will be several race cars that will be of interest to the racing crowd. One is a TQ midget that was driven by Kara Hendricks. She was well known and adored by all but lost her life in a Midget race some years ago. This will be on loan from her parents. Another race car of interest is a 1946 vintage "Solar" Midget. Ryan Aircraft was the parent company of Solar. After WW II they started building midgets in the same hangar which was used for building the Spirit of St Louis.

And, this just in from Dick Woodland, "I just received confirmation that I will be receiving much of the artifacts, antiques, photos, prints, books etc. from the recently closed Arizona Museum of Racing. This was an outstanding museum put together by the late Steve Stroud. His widow, Jan Stroud, wanted these items to have a home, preferably on the west coast. I can't thank Jan Stroud enough. I'm not talking of a few items but virtually a moving van load." It's going to be well worth the visit!

Driving to the Museum? Please Note the Following:

Visitors to Estrella Warbirds Museum in Paso Robles, please note, the city of Paso Robles is undertaking major road and utility renovations along Dry Creek Road between Airport Road and Jardine Road. If one entrance to Dry Creek Road is temporally closed, please have patience. You will need to use Highway 46 to access the opposite entrance. Map showing both roads is available here. This will be in affect for the next several months.
