Operation Christmas Child Coming to Crown of Glory - Can You Help Lead This Project?
Crown of Glory will be building Operation Christmas Child boxes this year. In honor of our 50th anniversary, our goal is to fill 50 shoeboxes. We are seeking a volunteer to help with the administrative duties of this six-week project, beginning mid-September. For info or to volunteer, contact Gretchen. Major Gift Ensures New Carpeting
With our gratitude and deepest appreciation Crown of Glory is excited to announce that a generous donation has been gifted to our Flooring Fund . This gift will allow us to finish the carpeting around the church gathering spaces and the hallways!

And a Challenge Gift for Congregation Members
This flooring gift has an additional “Challenge Gift” for our congregation’s action. Our challenge is to raise an additional $25,000 by end of year to complete all of our flooring needs. In response, if the goal is met, the family will make an additional stock gift to Crown of Glory estimated at $15,000 in early 2019!

Gifts have already started coming in - thank you. Help us reach our challenge goal of $25,000!

Fall Planting Dates Scheduled to Complete Church Landscaping Plans: Sept 29 & Oct 6
The Landscape Team has been busy this summer making plans to continue the landscape work that needs to be completed. A huge thanks to everyone who has helped as garden caretakers this summer and to those who have made contributions to the Landscape Fund. As a result of those generous contributions, we are gearing up for our phase 2: “Fall 2018 Event: Planting Days.”

Mark your calendars for September 29 (planting 52 shrubs) and October 6 (moving existing plants back into the patio garden). See Mat Youngman for info and to sign up for one or both of these days. Click to read more details on the landscape page .
New Interior Decor Committee Being Formed
With new carpet coming, and major interior (dust-creating) construction completed, CoG is well poised to step back and take a look at how we envision all of our spaces being used, what decor and furniture supports the various uses, and create a church environment that is inviting to guests while informing them of all we have to offer. We will also look at how spaces are currently used by members and groups to ensure continued functionality. A new Interior Decor Committee is being formed to look at these issues and create a recommendation on what furniture and decor changes would help CoG meet these objectives. If you are interested in participating, please email Kathy Tinker to join this committee or provide your thoughts and ideas.
Honoring Veterans and Military Members
On November 11, Crown of Glory will hold its special 50th anniversary service featuring Pastor Paul Oman. However, this also Veterans Day and we want to honor our veteran and military members with a photo board. CoG veterans and current service members are welcome to submit a photo (military, current or both) for our display board. Simply drop off or email photos to the church office no later than October 24.
