Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva successfully secured $1 million in funding from the 2018-19 State Budget for Fullerton College's welding program. The investment from the state, by Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva, will allow Fullerton College to better equip students with the skills needed to meet the growing needs of industry.

Great ShakeOut Drill Ready to Roll Oct. 18
The entire Fullerton College campus, including NOCE's Wilshire Center, will participate in the statewide Great Shakeout earthquake drill on Oct. 18 at 10:18 a.m. The drill will include evacuations of all buildings and demonstrations of the Stryker evacuation chairs. Before the drill begins, the campus community will receive a test of the mass emergency communication system. A text message, voicemail and email will be sent. A report that describes the activities of Fullerton College's highest governing body, the President's Advisory Council (PAC), in the 2016-17 school year is now available. The report is intended to demystify how decisions are made at the college.

The No. 1 Hornets (6-0) won their 25th straight game on the road Saturday knocking off conference-rival Palomar College 56-31. Up Next: Fullerton (6-0 overall, 1-0 conference) will host Cerritos College in another Central Division matchup on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
After a nice 3-0 win over Santiago College on Wednesday night, the Hornets dropped a tough one at Cypress College Friday 3-0. Up Next: Fullerton (7-5 overall, 2-4 OEC) will look to get back on track on Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they host Riverside City College at 6 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The Hornets beat Saddleback on Tuesday 1-0 but then lost to No. 3 in state Santiago Canyon College 6-1 at home Friday. Up Next: FC (7-3-1 overall, 4-2-1 OEC) will pick it back up when they host Golden West College on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.

Fullerton had a rough day in the pool at Golden West College last Wednesday losing to the Rustlers 23-7. Up Next: FC will play in the Santa Monica Mini-Tournament on Friday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m.
Women's Water Polo
The Hornets showed their dominance at Golden West College on Wednesday beating the Rustlers 17-10 in an Orange Empire Conference showdown. Up Next: The Hornets (18-2 overall, 3-1 OEC) will host Orange Coast College on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.
Women's Golf
The Hornet golf team took first at El Prado with a score of 340. Eunsoo Jeon led the field with her best outing of the shooting 70. Teammates Shelby Hahn and Natalie Widjaja played well shooting 85 and 87. Angela James shot 98. Up Next: The Hornets will play Tustin Ranch (host Irvine Valley College) on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.
Women's Cross Country
Irvine Park was the venue for the Hornets to compete at the Brubaker Invitational on Friday, Oct. 5 where they finished in 10th place overall. Rebeca Perez continued to lead the pack for the women's team with her time of 21:23 and finished in 28th place overall out of 97 runners. Twenty-three seconds later Rachel Aldama crossed the line with a 21:46. Up Next: The Hornets compete Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at Mt. SAC.
Men's Cross Country
The men's team finished in 10th place at the
Brubaker Invitational. There were 153 runners and the top five FC men finished in 34, 47, 69, 80, and 100th place overall. Mauro Rosales ran 22:10 and Ian Rusk was 19 seconds behind him. Andrew Fernando ran within 34 seconds of Rusk and Ryan Sheatz was 18 seconds behind Fernando. Up Next: The men's team also heads to Mt. SAC and will run at 10:45 a.m. on Friday.

13 Past Midnight
Thursday Oct. 11-13 at 7:30 p.m., Campus Theatre
When powerful millionaire Victor Winslow, producer of a popular T.V. soap opera, invites members of the cast and crew to his mansion for a party, none dares refuse. Winslow informs his guests that he has assembled them to help him develop a new murder mystery game he invented called "13 Past Midnight." But the game becomes deadly when Victor is discovered stabbed in the neck with a dart, and Pete Griffin, a private investigator hired to act as a consultant, must try to trap the murderer before he or she can strike again.
