Sunday, December 2, 10 am in the Sanctuary
Join us as we celebrate the beginning of the church year on the first Sunday of Advent as we consider what it means to worship fully during this season of preparation. How does worship help us make room for God as we ponder the incarnation, when God made room for us? Scriptures are
Psalm 25 and
Luke 21:25-36.
Music Notes
This Advent season, we will experience the sounds of Spain, Britain, and Colonial America as we prepare for the arrival of the Christ Child. American composer, Conrad Susa (1935-2013) completed Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest in 1992. Our service begins with a Catalonian carol that contrasts the cold winter weather in the U.S. with the love that blossomed in the birth of Jesus. During the offertory the Chancel Choir and soloists sing a Puerto Rican carol telling of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem.
Children, Youth, and Families
During Worship: Children are invited to stay in worship as we celebrate the Lord's Supper
together.
Dwellers and Sowers (Middle and High School Youth)
may complete the worship reflection and turn it into Kevin for a prize. Families pick up your Advent @ Home Exploration Boxes in living room following the service. All are welcome to attend the Community Meal at 11:30 am.
Covenant Commons: Community Meal, 11:30-12:30
Join us for our monthly Community Meal. This month we will eat in the Living Room (through the Dowd Commons and across from the Creche). We will be serving a simple meal of Soup and Bread. We encourage you to bring a crock pot of your favorite soup and bread to share around the table.

Join us as we consider how to worship fully during this season of Advent.
11:00 am-2:00 pm Cache Christmas Boutique
We need volunteers to work at the Christmas Boutique, as well as to help out on Tuesdays. Join the fun by becoming a Cache volunteer! Please contact Marilyn Langmack (216-321-4923), Ann Williams (216-381-3734), or the church office if you are interested.
11:30 am Community Meal: Soup and Bread
As we begin the season of Advent, we are reminded of the humble entrance of God into our world. For this Community Meal we will have a simple meal of Soup and Bread. We encourage you to bring your favorite soup in a Crock Pot and bread to share around the table.

Friends of the McGaffin Carillon
Free hot tea at the FMC tent near the shuttle stop.
3:00 pm Annual CircleFest Carillon Concert by George Leggiero, Covenant and University Circle Carillonneur. Music of the season on Cleveland's Singing Tower.
4:00 pm Carol Sing
Performing ensembles include Case/University Circle Symphony Orchestra, Church of the Covenant Chancel, Children's and Handbell Choirs, Case Concert Choir, Case Men's Glee Club, and University Chorale, and Cleveland Guitar Orchestra.

As you make plans to join us for the University Circle Winter Fest Carol Sing on Sunday, December 2 at 4 pm, remember to take advantage of RESERVED SEATS for Covenant Members and their guests! We offer reserved seats in our East gallery (near the lectern) so you can avoid the rush of patrons who typically attend this popular event. Calling All Cookie Bakers

We need lots (and lots) of cookies for our Circle Fest Carol Sing, when more people gather at Covenant than any other time of the year. Please consider baking or buying cookies for the reception that follows. Please bring to the office by Sunday, December 2.
Deacons are also asking for cookie donations for their Christmas luncheon at Ernest J. Bohn Senior Center on Tuesday, December 18. Please bring cookies labeled for marked for Ernest Bohm to the church office.
