Assistant Principal's Corner with Mr. Graham:
Third quarter has given Fountain Hills High School so much to be proud of, as our staff and students continue to show why we are a campus of champions. Our winter sports concluded last week, with FHHS having representation for each sport in the state tournament. Girls soccer, girls basketball, and boys basketball all fought hard in the tournament. Their level of sportsmanship, dedication, and pride made Fountain Hills High School proud!
Wrestling also completed its season in a dramatic fashion. Over two days, Leyton Kauffman battled to the state championship match. In the third period Leyton trailed his opponent, but, after a well timed headlock, turned the tide of the match. After holding a pin for nearly thirty seconds, Leyton's hand was raised, winning Fountain Hills High School another state championship! As we shift into the spring sports season, we look forward to more dynamic competition from track and field, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, boys' volleyball, and beach volleyball.
In addition to athletics, the campus of champions continues to represent academically. Each and every day, the teachers and students on campus continue to impress academically. As Dr. Jagodzinski and I visit classrooms, we are consistently impressed by what we see. From dynamic technology integration in math class to thought provoking discussions in English, FHHS continues to show that the campus of champions is not just about athletics.
Our friendship club took a field trip last week to help students learn about bowling and learn social skills. Our students have worked hard to ensure that all students at FHHS feel welcomed and part of the student community.
I am so proud of our staff and students, and look forward to seeing all of the great things they will do!
