Give Students a Gift That
Will Last a Lifetime!

A want versus a need. How to create and maintain a budget. Don't you wish that someone had taught you those things as you were growing up? Now there is someone. YOU!

If you've been meaning to make a contribution, now's the time. Your donation today makes it possible for students to take control of their future.

"We hear all the time that kids can't balance a checkbook but the JA programs help them not only do these kinds of things but they help them to see what it takes to run a business. What are the economics that are involved in that?  It helps them run their own lives better." - B'Port teacher

You have the power to give a student the successful future they desire. A $25 gift supports a 5-12 week JA program for a student. Let them know they can count on you by making a one-time or reoccurring donation today.

About Junior Achievement

8,000 + young people at nearly 50 schools and organizations benefit from Junior Achievement of Brazoria County programs each year, with help from more than 300 dedicated volunteers. JA programs change lives by giving young people the tools to thrive and teaching three crucial lessons: personal financial responsibility, workforce readiness and entrepreneurial thinking. JA empowers young people to own their economic success. This mission is accomplished through volunteers who take the time to teach JA, provide role model behavior and establish a mentoring relationship with students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Junior Achievement of Brazoria County serves all school districts in the county as well as private schools, after school and in school groups and organizations.

Online Tool For Teens, Educators & Parents

JA, with the support of The Hartford, has launched  JA MyBiz Builder. It's a free online tool for teens, educators and parents.
With hands-on activities, this free tool allows teens to create and test a business plan.

Business leaders claim that the generation of students entering the workplace lacks many critical "soft" skills like problem solving and critical thinking, abilities that contribute to an individual's and an organization's success. Details here

Chevron Phillips Chemical is the Title Sponsor for the third-annual JA Inspire event

Junior Achievement of Brazoria County recently collaborated with Brazosport College, Chevron Phillips Chemical, HEB Tournament of Champions, United Way grant, and other local businesses to bring local eighth-grade students an opportunity to explore career endorsement areas.
More than 480 eighth-grade students from Columbia-Brazoria, Damon and Sweeny ISD's, as well as Angleton and Brazosport Christian Schools, participated in the JA Inspire event, which provided the chance to participate in a career exploration event that focused on hands-on, in-depth career study and a tour of the college.
Thank you to everyone who made this event a SUCCESS!

Dow sponsors STEM lessons in Economics
for Clute Intermediate

19 local volunteers took on the task of teaching basic economics to over 250 Clute Intermediate eighth grade students last week in a collaborative effort with Junior Achievement.
Volunteers from Dow Chemical, Finley & Neal, First National Bank-LJ & TDECU empowered these students to make a career and financial choices that would afford them success in the real world.

This is the 12th year Dow Chemical has sponsored the Junior Achievement middle grade program for Clute Intermediate students.

Junior Achievement volunteers taught the "JA Economics for Success" Program which provides practical information about personal finance and the importance of identifying education and career goals based on a student's skills, interests and values. It also demonstrates the economic benefits of staying in school.
