How are you doing during the pandemic, climate-exacerbated extreme
weather and catastrophic wildfires, and protests for police reform?
Hopefully healthy and well while over 29 million people on Earth
have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and many cities are dealing with
renewed lockdowns, evacuations, and curfews.
We’re good here at
Greenroofs.com
and have been busy this summer
preparing to leave the beautiful foothills of the Georgia Piedmont.
We’ve finally reconnected with our Florida roots and moved our HQ to
the Sarasota area!
With social distancing measures in place, more events are going
virtual including
CitiesAlive next month. Thank you
to so many who have honored us with your kind words about being the
front runners with our
Greenroofs & Walls of the World Virtual
Summits™ since 2011. Initially we felt this was the best, most
inclusive, and least expensive way to engage a large number of
living architecture colleagues from across the globe. But clearly,
now it may not be a simple matter of choice when we are able to
conduct business in person. Continued success to all.
Finally, kudos to our dear friend
Emilio Ambasz who has received the
XXVI Compasso d’Oro Award
this time in recognition for his work,
having registered over 220 industrial and mechanical patents, and of
course, green architecture! Considered the "Oscar of Design," an
installation of 18 trees representing one for each prize will become
part of the urban forestation program promoted by the Region of
Lombardy and the city of Milan in order to enhance green urban
spaces.
