 Adult Volunteers Needed--Junior Achievement Event
Trinity will host "Real Life," an event run by Junior Achievement of South Central PA, on March 19. We are in need of 16 more adult volunteers to make this day happen for our students! Juniors and seniors will participate in activities related to financial literacy. Volunteers will facilitate an activity, and students will rotate through several activities during the day. Junior Achievement will provide training the morning of the event, and all activities are fun and engaging!

Volunteers will receive a light breakfast and lunch! Please consider joining us as we spend the day empowering and inspiring our students. Feel free to share this opportunity with other friends, neighbors, and colleagues who may be interested in helping the students of our school!  Sign up or contact  Ms. Allison Kierce, Junior Achievement's VP of Volunteer Engagement, for more information.

Re-registration and Course Selection
Students in grades 9 through 11 were given re-registration and course selection forms on Tuesday. Both are due on Wednesday, March 6, during mentor period. Please do not separate the forms; they should be returned together along with the $150 deposit on tuition for 2019-2020. Parents with multiple students returning to Trinity may send a combined check with the oldest child. Please note the check number on the younger child’s form.

Completing the Course Selection Process
To complete the course selection process, students need to get the signatures/initials of their current teachers as tentative approval of the next level of each course. After your child has completed the paper copy with all required signatures, parents must log in to their Rediker account to complete the course selection process.

To access the course selection portion of Rediker, log in and find "Course Requests" along the top bar. Click on that and then the "View/Edit" button of the course selection form. Some teachers may have made course recommendations for you on Rediker--that would be located at the top of each section and would say "Recommendations." Please make sure you have selected all required subjects, including Theology and Physical Education. Once you have completed all selections, you may either save your selections for later review or submit the selection. Hitting the "Submit" button is the finalization of the selections. Once you hit "Submit," you may not go back to change anything.

Requesting a Course Change
Once the course selection has been finalized, and the re-registration/course selection has been turned in to the school, changes may be made to selected courses by writing a note to Ms. Poplaski requesting the change. A $20 course change fee must accompany the note. The $20 course change fee will be in effect until July 26. After July 26, any requests to change courses must include a $100 course change fee.

Honors English
Students currently taking Honors English must maintain a 90% in order to move forward to the next level of Honors English. Students in Academic English who wish to be considered for Honors English must sit for the honors placement test after school this spring. Students should speak to their current English teacher and then see Mr. Nelson to let him know that they would like to sit for the placement test.

FACTS Financial Aid Application
The financial aid application is now available on the FACTS system. All families that want to be considered for financial assistance must complete the online form. Attached is a document explaining the process for applying for financial assistance through the Neumann Scholarship Program . Families can access the FACTS application here (you will need your FACTS login and password, or you can register for an account). If you need assistance in completing your application, please contact the Trinity Business Office at: (717) 761-1116 ext. 145.

Prescription medication must be in the original container with dispensing instructions and student's name to whom the medication will be dispensed.

The “NO Sit Challenge” (New!)
When students arrive at THON, they will be given a designated colored bracelet. If they stand for the entire 12 hours, they will receive a free dress down the following week. Intact bracelets will be removed from students as they leave THON, and a list of students who completed the challenge will be provided to faculty/administration for the dress down day.

Leaving THON--No student may exit the building for any reason during the event without the express permission of Mrs. Stager or Mrs. Lindholm.  Anyone leaving early for any reason must have a note provided to Mrs. Lindholm or Mrs. Stager by Friday morning, with a parent signature, contact number, the time for the dismissal, the reason, and the method of transportation. Students leaving early must sign out at the security table. Parents must come inside to sign students out (use the door near the Fitness Center).

THON ends at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, and students should not drive themselves home from THON-- they will be very tired! (Trust us, we know!) We would like parents to pick up their students or arrange for carpooling after THON.

Please contact Mrs. Stager or Mrs. Lindholm with any questions. Thanks for your continued support! FTK!

Spiritual Reflections
The Gospel for Sunday, February 10, 2019--The Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch." Simon said in reply, "Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets." When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them. They came and filled both boats so that the boats were in danger of sinking. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man." For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.--Luke 5:1-11

Reflection
The Gospel reading today should inspire us to be unafraid, to trust in Jesus, and to go out into the world and proclaim the Good News. The fishermen were unsuccessful when they tried to do their work without Jesus, but with Jesus they had a tremendous catch. In our own lives, we can feel tired, worn out, and unsuccessful. At these times, we need to evaluate our spiritual life. Are we allowing God into our lives? More importantly, are we giving God control of our lives? If we give God control, we can live life without fear. We can live confidently in God’s love for us and express that love to our neighbor.
Saint of the Week--Our Lady Of Lourdes, February 11
Devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes runs deep in the hearts of the faithful as a sign of God’s care and healing. The mediation of Mary, Jesus' mother, is a real consolation to those who suffer any ill.

For more information on the Saints, visit Franciscan Media’s Saint of the Day .
Prayer for the Week--Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes
Oh ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Health of the Sick, Refuge of Sinners, Comfortess of the Afflicted, you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings. Look upon me with mercy. When you appeared in the grotto of Lourdes, you made it a privileged sanctuary where you dispense your favors, and where many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal. I come, therefore, with unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. My loving Mother, obtain my request. I will try to imitate your virtues so that I may one day share your company and bless you in eternity. Amen.
