Elaine Martyn

Elaine Martyn is vice president and managing director of the Private Donor Group at Fidelity Charitable®, an independent public charity that has helped donors support more than 278,000 nonprofit organizations with nearly $35 billion in grants. The mission of Fidelity Charitable® is to grow the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving accessible, simple and effective. Ms. Martyn assumed her current role in 2014 and is responsible for leading a team of philanthropic strategists who support ultra-high net worth donors in their efforts to develop innovative solutions and strategies to maximize their philanthropic goals with their Fidelity Charitable donor-advised fund. Prior to joining Fidelity Charitable, Ms. Martyn was vice president of development at Global Fund for Women, where she influenced the strategic mission and raised $60 million to support women-led human rights organizations in 175 countries. She leveraged her experiences at Global Fund for Women, Refugees International, King’s College London, the British Medical Association, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School to formulate strategies which helped ultra-high net worth donors achieve their philanthropic goals. Ms. Martyn currently serves on several boards including Partners in Health, Prosperity Catalyst and NC Women United.
Ellen Remmer
Senior Partner, The Philanthropic Initiative
Ellen Remmer is a recognized leader in the field of strategic philanthropy. She is a Senior Partner at The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI), the nonprofit philanthropic advisory firm that pioneered the field of strategic philanthropy advising and works around the globe to help donors achieve lasting social impact. Ellen has been with TPI since 1993 and served as President and CEO of TPI from 2007-2012. Ellen has worked directly with dozens of family, corporate, and community foundations, and developed many of TPI’s philanthropy promotion initiatives. Recently, she has led TPI’s work to help donors amplify their impact through impact investing and launched Invest for Better, a campaign created to help women mobilize their investment capital for good. Among the many publications Ellen has authored are: Navigating the Territory: A Guide to Impact Investing for Donors, Philanthropy for the Wise Donor-Investor: A Primer for Families on Strategic Giving; Raising Children with Philanthropic Values; Making a Difference: Evaluating Your Philanthropy; and Passion: Discovering the Meaning in Your Philanthropy. Ellen has been featured in publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Forbes to Chronicle of Philanthropy and Town & Country. Ellen currently serves as the President of her family's foundation, which supports girls’ empowerment programs and sustainable fisheries. She chairs the Board of Prosperity Catalyst, a nonprofit organization that launches women-led businesses in conflict-ridden countries, and is a member of the Oxfam Leadership Council. Ellen completed a Bachelors of Arts from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College
Diane Schrader
Founder and CEO, thirdACT PBC
Diane Schrader is the Founder and CEO of thirdACT PBC, combining real estate, fintech, and sustainability. Since launching in 2015, thirdACT has developed a series of institutional investment products that drive resiliency in communities through the financing of energy efficiency and clean energy property improvements. Diane also founded the Climate and the DAF Salons. The Climate Salons are intimate gatherings held around the globe, convening the largest pools of capital to explore private investment in climate. The DAF Salons are a virtual series of conversations with thought leaders to explore how to direct investments from Donor Advised Funds. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Hawthorn Club and is an advisor to mission-driven startups, VCs, and non-profits. In 2008, Diane co-launched and chaired the Northern California chapter of 100 Women in Finance, served on its global board of directors for two terms, and now sits on the 100 Women in Fintech committee. Her work has taken her to over 50 countries, with longer stints in London, Paris, Tokyo, and Montreal. Diane studied figurative painting at San Jose State University. She speaks regularly at industry conferences and has guest lectured at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and numerous universities around the globe.
