Church School Update
Advent Family Night
Join us this Sunday, December 2, from 5 to 7 pm for Advent Family Night. This kickoff to the Advent season includes dinner and crafts. Learn the meaning behind our traditional Christmas tree ornaments. Make an Advent wreath to take home so you may light a candle each Sunday as we wait for the birth of Jesus. Click here to RSVP.

Here's what is going on in Church School this Sunday, December 2 :

Preschool I and II, PreKindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade
We are entering a special season in the Church Year. We are waiting for something special to happen. Students learn about the season of Advent and each class will assemble an Advent wreath. What color is the Fair Linen and why? How long is Advent?

Second Grade
Second grade students learn about the special season of the Church Year that begins this Sunday, Advent. They will assemble an Advent wreath and discuss its significance. Second grade students also continue exploring the Old Testament by learning about the prophets Elijah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah and making ornaments for their Jesse Tree wreaths.

Third Grade
Third grade students learn about the season of Advent and continue studying the New Testament by discussing Paul, who shared his Christian faith through letters. During Advent, third grade students will put together care packages for CSMSG parishioners living at the Gatesworth, a senior living community. This week the students will write letters introducing themselves to the parishioners. Over the next few weeks, students will bake cookies and make ornaments to include in the care packages.

Fourth and Fifth Grades
Fourth and fifth grade students have their monthly outreach project. This month they make blankets for children at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery .
Breakfast with St. Nichoals
Join us in the Great Hall on Sunday, December 9, at 11 am for Breakfast with St. Nicholas. Members of CSMSG Youth Ministry will serve breakfast while attendees make crafts and hear the true story of St. Nicholas from the man himself. Remember to leave your shoe in the hallway outside the Great Hall to receive a special treat. Click here to RSVP.
Advent Giving Tree
Visit the Advent Giving Tree in the Great Hall and help a child in need this Christmas. Each ornament on the tree represents a gift for a child at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery. Take an ornament, purchase the item listed, return the unwrapped item and place it under the tree in the Great Hall by December 16.

The St. Louis Crisis Nursery provides short-term, emergency shelter for families facing an emergency or crisis. For more information, visit www.crisisnurserykids.org.

Nativity Pageant
All Church School students are invited to dress as an angel, sheep, or shepherd and participate in the Nativity Pageant on Christmas Eve. Rehearsal will be held Sunday, December 23, at 1:15pm. Rehearsal is not mandatory but if it is your child's first time to participate it may be helpful to attend.
Register for Church School Online
Register your children for Church School for the 2018-19 school year online using the link below.
Please complete the form with your child's name and parent contact information. You will need to complete the form for each child enrolling in Church School. Click ADD to register additional children.

Does Your Child Have Allergies?
Food is an important part of our Church School curriculum. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies. Children in preschool through first grade made name tags with parent contact information. You may write your child's allergies on his or her name tag so all teachers and high school assistants may readily see this information. Additionally, we will include this information in the class buckets. Please email Jane Fisher with information about your chid's food allergies.
