We are entering a special season in the Church Year. We are waiting for something special to happen. Students learn about the season of Advent and each class will assemble an Advent wreath. What color is the Fair Linen and why? How long is Advent?
Second Grade
Second grade students learn about the special season of the Church Year that begins this Sunday, Advent. They will assemble an Advent wreath and discuss its significance. Second grade students also continue exploring the Old Testament by learning about the prophets Elijah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah and making ornaments for their Jesse Tree wreaths.
Third Grade
Third grade students learn about the season of Advent and continue studying the New Testament by discussing Paul, who shared his Christian faith through letters. During Advent, third grade students will put together care packages for CSMSG parishioners living at the Gatesworth, a senior living community. This week the students will write letters introducing themselves to the parishioners. Over the next few weeks, students will bake cookies and make ornaments to include in the care packages.
