AARP will be at the Hills Memorial Library,18 Library Street, Hudson, providing free tax assistance and help with tax returns. While walk-ins are welcome, making an online appointment is strongly encouraged, since only appointments are guaranteed to receive tax help.

Symphony New Hampshire Discount Passes
Discount passes to Symphony New Hampshire concerts at the Keefe Center for the Arts in Nashua are now available. Each pass is good for two concert tickets for $10 each. A limited number of passes for each concert are available through the  Museum Pass system  on our website.

Once tickets have been reserved through our museum pass site, call the Rodgers Library Reference Department at 603-886-6030 for a discount code that must be used at  Symphony New Hampshire's website  to finalize the online purchase of the discounted tickets.

You may also call Symphony New Hampshire at 603-595-9156 if you wish to purchase the discounted tickets by phone.

Until Help Arrives, You Are the Help: Emergency Training

"...a powerful reminder that at a moment’s notice, any one of us might find ourselves in a situation where we are the help until help arrives."
Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast, and emergency responders aren’t always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately.

To help citizens prepare for an emergency,  Until Help Arrives training will be offered at the library, which is offered by Greater Nashua Public Health Network, City of Nashua Division of Public Health & Community Services.

At the end of the free 3-hour course, participants will be able to:
  • Use simple and effective skills to save lives.
  • Communicate with 9-1-1 operators effectively.
  • Act to protect the injured from further harm.
  • Position the injured.
  • Stop life-threatening bleeding.
  • Provide emotional support.

Join Chef Oonagh Williams - a regularly featured chef on WMUR Channel 9's "Cook's Corner" - for a session on traditional Lithuanian Easter bakes, including raspberry wine-glazed ham ("Kumpis su vyno ir avie č i ų glajum"); Easter bread ("Velyku boba"), a pound cake-style no-yeast bread with fruit and nuts; and "flowerpot" cheese ("Paska, saldus sūris"), a sweet fruit and nuts cheese spread.

Edible Book Festival: Saturday, April 6
In honor of International Edible Book Day (yes, it's a thing ), the library will be celebrating with its own Edible Book Festival! Enter your Edible Book creation for a chance to win prizes!

Edible books can:
  • Look like a book in form and shape,
  • Be inspired by a book or author, such as a pun of a book title,
  • Refer to a book character,
  • Reproduce a book cover, or
  • Have anything to do with books in general.

Entries may be made from anything that is edible (cake, bread, crackers, Jell-o, fruit, vegetables, candy, etc.) as long as it can be displayed for several hours without melting or going bad/rancid. Prizes will be given in various age groups and categories including Punniest/Funniest and People’s Choice!
