January has arrived and with it the promise and expectations of a new year. We hope this brand new year will provide abundant opportunities for us all to grow spiritually, to provide practical care and support for our neighbor, and to experience divine Love's constant guidance and protection. These verses from the Scriptures provide inspiration and encouragement as we embrace the promise of a new year:
The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand....For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? (Isaiah 14: 24,27).
The CSNN Board is looking forward to a progressive and active year in supporting the Love-inspired ministry of Christian Science nurses. We recently had an online Skype meeting which brought together six Board members in five US states and in England. We are excited to announce that the International Christian Science Nursing Conference (ICSNC) will take place at CedarS Camps, Lebanon, Missouri, from September 4th-8th, 2019. Mark your calendars!
Conference preparation is well under way and we are now in touch with prospective speakers and workshop leaders. The theme of our 2019 conference is: "Here I am, Lord" (based on Isaiah 6:8). As we work towards completing the conference program in the coming months, we welcome your active interest and support.
Throughout this new year, CSNN Board members look forward to participating in further collaboration and co-operation with AOCSN, the Philanthropy Forum, and The Mother Church. For example, CSNN Board members are currently engaged in a project with other organizations to develop and support workshops on Christian Science nursing in branch churches. This will build on the foundation of International Christian Science Nursing Day that took place in September 2018.
