Join us as we celebrate our 4-H members great achievements and recognize our volunteers for everything they do for our program. Our entertainment will be a little different this year with a series of fun "minute to win it" games. As always, we will have great food and fun door prizes!

Moore County 4-H wants to continue to improve how we support the youth and families in our county. We strive to accomplish this by providing quality training opportunities for our volunteers, providing project resources for our members and volunteers, supporting youth attending district and state events, supporting
educators with in school curriculum, providing high quality camps opportunities at discounted rates and offering collaborative programs with like-minded organizations.
To financially support our programs, we submit grants, solicit donations and collect user fees.

Host Families Needed for 4-H International Exchange
|
North Carolina 4-H offers opportunities for members and their families to become part of a growing tradition that includes leadership, cultural exploration and fun! Through the Inbound and Outbound programs provided through NC 4-H, families gain experiences and shared memories that will last a lifetime!
North Carolina 4-H is searching for host families for Summer 2019. Inbound students will be coming from Japan and Costa Rica. Host families will be assigned a sibling of the same gender as their own child and within 2-3 years of age of their own child. The host sibling age range is 10-18.

South Central District Teen Retreat
|
Teen Retreat is an opportunity for 4-H members to come together
to participate in workshops, community service work, and outdoor activities. Transportation to and from Carthage, overnight lodging and most meals are covered in the registration cost. We are still waiting on finalized details, but anticipate the cost to be around $40. If you would like to attend, please email Sarah Miller so we can be sure to provide the information as soon as it becomes available.

NC 4-H Beekeeping Essay
|
4-H youth are encouraged to
explore more about the fascinating story of the hardworking honey bee by participating in the
North Carolina 4-H Beekeeping Essay contest
. The essay provides a platform for youth to creatively express their working knowledge and research of the craft of beekeeping.

NC Youth Institute
|
The North Carolina Youth Institute is a life-changing experience at North Carolina State University where high school students engage with local leaders and experts on critical global challenges, participate in hands-on activities, and explore exciting ways to make a difference in North Carolina and around the world.
Students research issues they care about, and propose their ideas to solve these challenges.

NC State Environmental Career Day
|
This will be a fantastic, hands-on event for students to explore a wide variety of unique environmental majors at NC State and the exciting careers to which they can lead.
High school students who are considering majors related to the environment are encouraged to attend.

NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Open House
|
Go behind the scenes at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and NC State Veterinary Hospital during their annual open house. The o
pen house includes hospital tours, visits with animals of all shapes and sizes, exhibits on veterinary medicine and animal care from students, faculty and staff, and much more.

4-H County Activity Day
|
Presentations and public speaking are routinely recognized as one of the most valuable life skills 4-H can offer!
County Activity Day
(CAD)
provides an opportunity for youth to communicate by sharing their voice and/or showcasing their talents. CAD opportunities include: presentations, public speaking, impromptu, interpretive reading, storytelling, char-grill, dance, vocal, instrumental, skits, etc. Participants are free to select topics as long as they are 4-H appropriate.

Horticulture Science Summer Institute
|
High school students are invited to spend a week at NC State University climbing trees, grafting tomatoes, snacking on raspberries, discovering new genes and so much more. The Horticultural Science Summer Institute is a residential, hands-on, pre-college program designed to engage youth into the many career opportunities within horticulture.

Moore County 4-H Horse Eligibility Cards
Members who plan to show at the 4-H District and State Horse Shows are required to
complete a Horse Eligibility Card (one for each potential horse). The process to submit your Horse Eligibility Cards has changed, so please be sure to read thoroughly and make note of deadlines!
Families must complete a
Horse Eligibility Card Request Form
for each horse they might exhibit. Please complete the Horse Eligibility Card Request Form(s) by March 4
. The completed Horse Eligibility Cards will then be printed and sent to the
appropriate
club leader for review and signature. Families will then be responsible for bringing the cards in for the 4-H Agent's signature. The 4-H Agent will not sign the form prior to the club leader and will not sign for members who are not enrolled in 4HOnline
. Please call ahead to be sure the 4-H Agent will be in the office if you expect to get the card signed that day. You may also choose to drop off the card(s) and we can mail them once they are signed. The deadline to get the 4-H Agent signature is

4-H Project Record Book & Portfolio Judges Needed
NC 4-H is seeking judges to review and judge project record books and portfolios. Volunteers are able to
judge for just one day or stay to judge for a few days. Lodging and some meals are covered to volunteers.
