Dungeons & Dragons Teen Program
Mondays 5PM - 8PM

Dungeons & Dragons, the first commercially available role-playing game, is almost 45 years old, and it still holds appeal. Imagine: a group of teenagers gathered around a table, not a screen, using low-tech tools to propel the game, and crafting stories of bravery and cunning!

Read a book inspired by Dungeons & Dragons experiences: In 2008 Junot Diaz won the Pulitzer Prize for his first novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao . He said it was written in honor of his gaming years. Its protagonist, Oscar, is a role-playing game fanatic who wants to become the Dominican version of J.R.R. Tolkien and writes up to 20 pages a day of fantasy-inspired fiction.

From the Library Director
The New Library is nearing 100% design completion. The site at 110 West State Street is being prepared for the new library. The old buildings have been removed and next you will see the site being prepared for the contractor. The project will go to bid in spring of 2019 with construction completion estimated to be in spring 2020.

This New Library will give patrons much more room to read, study, and work collaboratively with fellow community members. The new library will provide welcoming spaces that will make the already wonderful programs provided by the library even more enjoyable. The collection will be the backbone of the library, with books supporting the learning and activities of the community. Be sure to check out the virtual tour of the library on our website under the New Library tab.
