Dear Roslyn Families,
As we approach the beginning of the new school year, I know many students are experiencing anxiety about navigating the district's new health and safety protocols.
This year is going to be a big adjustment for everyone, and the ability to manage one's feelings is key to having a successful academic year. Since children often take emotional cues from the adult in their lives, it's important that we model a calm nature, listen to concerns, and put children at ease.
Below you'll find a link to a document containing some helpful guidance on supporting your child's mental health as they return to school during COVID-19. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the tools offered in this presentation, and implement those which you find helpful.
Please reach out to your school's social worker, counselor and/or any other school personnel who can help you and your child(ren) in any way possible.
Sincerely, Allison Brown Superintendent of Schools
