TO: Northwest ISD Parents, Caregivers, and Staff
FROM: Ryder Warren, Superintendent of Schools
SUBJECT: District Update - July 3, 2020
Thank you for your input and patience as we’ve been working to make decisions and communicate our plans for the 2020-2021 school year.
As previously communicated in my
Facebook Live broadcasts, there will be two options for students to “Return to Learn” in August:
We need your help as we make final preparations for the upcoming school year.
We ask that our families take the following steps by Sunday, July 12:
- Educate yourself on each learning option and discuss as a family what will be best for your child.
- Review NISD’s Health and Safety Protocols and a list of FAQs for the 2020-2021 school year.
- Check your email. An email will be sent later today to all legal guardians for each student enrolled in NISD. The email will come from no-reply@nidsdtx.org.
- Follow the links in the email you’ll receive later today to complete the Preference Form for each child in your household. You should complete one form for each child.
This is a very important step as we prepare for the upcoming school year. Your input on the Preference Form will help us determine how many teachers will be needed for In-Person Learning and how many will begin the year teaching Remote Learning. It will also help us plan for transportation and meal services. We understand your situation may change in coming weeks, but it will be extremely helpful for us to gauge your family’s preference at this time.
If you haven’t yet completed
Enrollment Online for your child, you will need to do that before receiving the email with a link to the Preference Form.
Thank you for your time and partnership, and please know that we will continue working to create safe learning environments and to support your child in any way possible.
Sincerely,
Ryder Warren, Ed.D.
